Another War Thunder update, another episode of “How Bad Can We Screw the U.S.?” America’s shining stealth star, the RAH-66 Comanche, was meant to be a ghost in the sky — now it’s so visible even a blind man with a white cane and tinnitus could detect it at midnight in a snowstorm. So if literal darkness can’t hide it, what hope does it have against radar-guided anti-air? Might as well paint it neon orange and fly with a disco ball. This thing comes pre-equipped with a spotlight and Spotify ads.

Stealth helicopters didn’t catch on for a few reasons, mainly because the fuselage’s stealthy design was rendered useless due to the fact it’s a heli and has multiple blades whipping around on top of it.

I’d also argue the star of the B-2 or F-22 burns twice as bright, seeing as the Comanche is very niche

Oh, and the Comanche is a cancelled protoype, with only 2 built

The SL-AMRAAM is America’s equivalent to the IRIS-T. It’s also worth noting, they use two different guidance systems, aka the IRIS-T uses IR guidance, whereas the SL-AMRAAM uses ARH guidance (correct me if I’m wrong btw). The launch vehicle the US uses could also be seen as juvenile, seeing as it’s just a Humvee with a couple missiles haphazardly stuck up top

Its quite hard to make a helicopter stealthy when it relies on a massive rotating blade to stay in the sky.

Stealth helicopters didn’t catch on for a few reasons, mainly because the fuselage’s stealthy design was rendered useless due to the fact it’s a heli and has multiple blades whipping around on top of it.

Fun fact: Stealth focused helis didn’t catch on , but low observability features did make their way into the Eurocopter Tiger which is why it looks a touch emaciated from the wrong angles amongst other things. Maybe other helis, I do not know. But tiger is cool so I’m vaguely aware of it. Not stealth, but has some neat features.

TBH Iowa should be better, due to it’s systems
