The game keeps crashing


Ever since I bought my new laptop, the game keeps crashing constantly. I either get the message I put here or sometimes no message at all, it just closes abruptly whether I’m in the lobby or in a match. I tried checking if it was the temperature or some other issue with Afterburner, but no. I also verified the files on Steam, but still nothing :(
If anyone knows what it really could be, I’d really appreciate it

Same here, even reinstalling didn’t fix the issue

Exactly, not even reinstalling the game or restarting it and checking the files works

I have been getting the same issue since today 3rd January 2026.
Its non-stop, i can’t get through a match without this happening.

Also having this issue, I did just update my drivers but I haven’t launched the game since Friday.

I just got my game to launch, what I did was open a File Explorer window and the SteamLibrary > steamapps > common > War Thunder > win64 folder. Right click the aces.exe file and select properties. From there, navigate to the Compatibility tab, select Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 8. Click apply, and launch the game. Assuming the game successfully launches, close the game, and uncheck the box for running in compatibility mode.

Same issue. Often happens exactly when i try to shoot someone else while flying a plane. Rarely (if ever) when playing in a tank. Weird.

I’d like to add that it also seems to corrupt my replay file of the match it happens in as those will never appear in my replay tab

Same here. Happens only when i try loading into ARB matches. Ill hard crash to desktop and get the “send crash report to developers” message. This is insanely frustrating.
