I’m curious whether the Mirage F1 can carry a 30mm CC-420 gun pod on its fuselage centerline pylon. While researching, I came across a video showing a Mirage F1 carrying two CC-420 pods on its centerline, but I’m uncertain whether the aircraft is actually capable of carrying a single CC-420 pod in that position.
The configuration depicted in the video might represent a field modification or temporary setup. Therefore, I’m also wondering whether the official Mirage F1 flight manual specifies centerline gun pod carriage capability, or if there exists any other photographic evidence documenting the Mirage F1 carrying a pod on its centerline station.
In DCS World, the Mirage F1 is able to carry a gun pod on its centerline pylon; however, this capability is not implemented in War Thunder. In War Thunder, equipping the Mirage F1 with a gun pod requires sacrificing at least one Matra 530F missile, which feels very awkward.
If the Mirage F1 in the game were able to carry a gun pod on its centerline without such trade-offs, it would represent a meaningful buff to this aircraft.
Do you mean that the Mirage F1 shown in the video—equipped with two gun pods mounted on a Y-shaped pylon—is a special Spanish variant? I was wondering if you might have any additional information on this configuration, or perhaps the original source video for this footage?
I have reported an issue of the lack of fuselage gun pods, and I sincerely hope you can help boost the visibility of this issue to push for the implementation of gun pod changes in-game.
considering CT is missing some of its guided munitions and can’t take a centerline 530E like the F1Cs can i’ll definitely take an extra two underslung DEFAs alongside my magics and 530Fs
