The F14 needs to be buffed. It being a early 4gen fighter fighting against 4.5 gen

How does it give data over IRST?

The same way it gives data with radar, through the datalink antenna.

When firing at a TWS targets, the missile doesn’t “see” your radar target, only the information being fed it via the datalink.

Modern aircraft can build a track file from more sensors than just the radar and it will be fed all the same.

This radar locks onto chaff a lot too

yea

its the only pd radar in-game besides the apg59 based stuff that isnt true PD and still gets ground clutter and chaff i guess (there was a time were even good radars locked on to chaff but i guess its fixed for now)

Well I would like to say first of all the F14A and F14B need their buffs… Not to mention ive done lots of research on this matter… (all info is either done by me or taken from trusted sources…) the F14B was able to carry aim9ms while the F14A couldve carried Aim-9ls while this subject is mostly towards the F14As unrealistic loadout not having its aim9ls when there are images pertaining to the aircraft carrying the aim9l yet this seems out dated since this topic hasnt been talked about in almost 7 months which is wild but I believe the F14A should gets its Aim9ls (i have linked an image showing the F14A’s 9l capablities) -link https://dstorm.eu/pictures/nose-arts/f-14/161140_1.jpg -

Have they done so before 1977? As the F-14A is effectively being held to the specified configurations listed in the April 1977 edition of the F-14A Standard Aircraft Characteristics document.

They tested AIM-9Ls in China lake iirc

Hell at that point, you’ve also got the AIM-95 too, but well.

F-14A & AIM-95
F9F-8 AIM-95

Isn’t enough.
