I think for the F/A-18A it would be better to go to 11.7 in Ground RB.
It has only two guided Air to Ground Bombs it can carry at once.
The AGM-62 Walleye II that has a very weak lock range of 2.5km for moving targets.
Other planes at 12.0 for comparison are the
• AV-8B+ having IR Mavericks, Aim-9M and Aim-120s. triple gbu12 racks with a excellent TGP
And also at 11.7 u can find more capable Aircraft at both Air to Ground and at Air to Air anti Cas
•F-111F Super sonic and has Laser Guided Bombs and up to 6 Mavericks at once.
• F-20 that shares the same Air RB with the F/A-18A now has 4 Mavericks.
• F-4F ICE is even faster than the Hornet has the same radar and has Aim-120s and AGM-65G
•AV-8B NA That has everything the AV8B+ has
except no Aim-120s and 9Ms
Now even lower at 11.3
•Tornado IDS and GR.4 has Aim-9L/M and laser guided bombs
•Su24M has a Ton of air to ground stuff and is also 11.3 ground
I would Argument that the F/A-18A with 2
Walleyes and Two Aim-9Ls and 1 Sparrow and 1 TGP isnt really better than any of those listed at Cas.
I know that there is a C Late in the Tree that will be better at CAS but thats besides the Point.
It would be so much better if the A would be usable in Ground too at a Reasonable BR
If it stays at 12.0 it should recive AGM-65Bs which it could carry. The A was capable of using TV Mavericks and Laser ones just not the IR AGM-65F.
And since the A in game doesnt get the laser pod it could carry in RL to use with the AGM-65E it would have carried. I think adding AGM-65Bs to it would fair for 12.0.
But if the F/A-18A remains how it is right now it should go lower to 11.7 in ground RB to go in line with a 11.7 Ground Lineup. If not i think almost nobody will use it in ground RB anyways and that would be a shame.
