So let me get this right. I’ve never been killed by an f-5c, i’ve dealt with them easily ever since they were added, yes they were more dangerous back then because their 20mm actually worked and didn’t have serious drag. Now they’re bad, I play it, and I struggle. I play against it, and even if the opponent has gathered 7 kills and has 10kd in it I still can outdogfight it because I know it’s actually a weak plane, simply don’t turn fight it at mach 0.95. At any other speeds you absolutely whoop it even with the su25.
It’s an awful aircraft, it literally accelerates worse than an f86k, it has terrible cannons that get slower than gsh23l just half a second after leaving the muzzle because of the HUGE EFFING DRAG, which also deal NO DAMAGE WHATSOEVER, it’s 300kmh slower than the next slowest supersonic 10.3 and it has 9.0 missiles at 10.7 while having the damage model literally more fragile than a spitfire (compared to when it was added which could tank an entire Maverick)
It’s the zero and the n1k all over again except only for the lack of speed, but people are stagnated in the past as if the game never changed.
It’s a terrible aircraft one just needs a neuron to deal with regardless of the player because it’s an extremely situational vehicle that when it’s in SAID situations it doesn’t do anything either because the armament is just not enough. M39 and Vulcan have the lowest TNT load of any 20mm in game.
I’ve out 1v1’d them in hunter, in su25, in f-4e, in mig23mld, in mig19pt, in mig19s, in mig21smt, in mig21 bis, in f8u and f8e, heck even in the a10.
Don’t get me wrong, it WAS a very BS aircraft back then but back then is NOT now.
My solution is to remove it’s flares and place it at 10.0.

No, it’s not, and your stats prove it. The F-5A is your best unit because it has the same BR as the f-5c while having proper missiles. So either add aim9j’s to the f-5c or lower it to 10.0 with aim9e’s and no flares.
M39s are some of the worst guns in game right now, rivaling in shittiness with Mauser BK27s (Germany/Britain)

still wins dogfights pretty easily
it does against most stuff in a normal frantic air RB scenario but there’s ways and ways to defeat them in most vehicles in game.
The Su25 toys with it at speeds below 800kmh, the mig21 can extend and reengage as much as it wants or one circle it, the f-4e can turn flat until the f-5c loses all energy, the hunter can reverse it etc etc.

if the f-5c is a one trick pony then yes it’s garbage
tho the av8s, drakens and a5s are far worse
f5c is extremely easy to use and does decently well in game by just turnfighting everything it comes across and winning the majority of the time, its only problem is that gaijin thinks the NF-5A also should be 10.7.

also every plane has a way to be defeated so thats not exactly a good reason
In my opinion, F-5C it’s good, but it’s disappointing to see that the NF-5A, which is clearly better equipped (engines/missiles), is at the same BR :(
Isn’t the F-5A/C/E, like, one of the best dogfighters at 10.7-11.0? Even with bad missiles that’s already enough to not make it “garbage” at that BR range

That’s what I thought, it was literally my biggest problem when playing the Mirage IIIE because before I got the magics it crushed me in every way
