While it could be an unplanned delay, the other possibility is they’re just getting rid of the last vestiges of the old Operation Summer. The move from a F-14 to an F-106 to a copy-paste Russian dreadnought this year was already a pretty good sign of that I’d say.
Maybe they’ve been planning for September to be the big month now instead of August and this is part of that new strategy. I could be wrong, and we will see them pop up on the 11th or 12th.
They also have to be careful about how they announce this and minimize the advance notice of when it’ll be, because every time there’s an SL crate, prices for every vehicle in the crate crash and if some people know that in advance of others that can lead to real market board problems. So even though this sucks for the WT gambling addicts, they may have little choice but to keep the actual date a surprise.

They unironically believe theyre built different, theyre gonna sink 6 mil SL into them and then be mad no vehicle drops; or if it drops it isnt the most expensive coupon one.

Eh, I got lucky and pulled the Surblinde on the lootcrates at the beginning of this year and sold it for 1.3k Gaijin coins. They are also a great way to get boosters, orders, backups and of course the occasional decal or vehicle.
All of that for SL is fair in my honest opinion, especially for people that enjoy collecting but don’t have hundreds of euros sitting around for a marketplace vehicle lol.
And speaking of marketplace, since console players have no access to it, it’s their only way to even get past event vehicles :)

They’re just gambling addicts. I also burn some extra SL on the boxes because why not at the end of the day, I make way more playing than I spend grinding anyway. But this desperate craving for a Gacha box is just sad.

You’re guaranteed to get something, most of it being pretty useful and since SL is pretty easy to obtain for most people, it’s more than fair.

That it doesn’t matter how much luck you have since you’re guaranteed to get at least SOMETHING useful out of them, be it backups, orders or boosters.
Personally I like the SL chests but what I don’t like is how they appear so close to those SL sales they do. Plus yeah, addiciton is a problem of course.

See I dont disagree with you in fact. You get at least something of worth from SL lootboxes.
But these people arent doing it for boosters or backups, theyre doing it fot vehicles.
