In BVR worser than Su-30sm, except of speed
It will still be one of the top dogs, if not stay the top dog, it will just lack in missile numbers, Su-30 retains quite a few flaws of the Su-27s, and the F-18C is a lot slower, with the same armament
it won’t be as easy to play, but it will be more than capable of fighting for many updates to come (as shown as it being one of the 4 current aircraft at 14.0, with the Su-30 and F-18 being additions to that)
if a Su-30 tries to do thrust vectoring stuff, just extend and preflare/chaff, it will be extremely slow
Same with the F-18 with its AoA switch, it will be a sitting duck, extend and then return to slam some 27mm into its fuselage, if not a simple missile
The whole cobra maneuver is the same as the Harriers VIFF breaking stop a one trick pony.
( except sus can not use their thrust to generate lift)
yeah, there isn’t any tangible benefit, it might come in useful when you are desperate not to fully overshoot or when you need a few more degrees of AoA for a gunshot, but not much past that
