You can have any opinion, but in a competition between players of the same skill level, the winner will be JAs39, not F4F
I think its good to keep the thread active so developers could see its receiving a lot of attention from the players. Might actually encourage them to change things. Bug reports are up anyway so we can just wait
German Typhoon’s Captor-E ECRS Mk1 Should have 200° Total FoR // Gaijin.net // Issues
That is the best bug report I´ve found about this matter and they just said “no, it says 90, it should be 90” even when the users give valid proofs.
Swedish JAS39C? Absolutely. JAS39A or SAAF JAS39C? Not really, it depends on multiple factors. Its kinda pointless anyway since you barely ever fight 1v1’s in ARB
I’m shocked at how (presumably) top tier players think that being able to keep guiding via datalink PLUS notching correctly isn’t a big advantage.
10° wouldn’t have mattered if it was 70° to 80°, but it does matter when it’s 90° to 100°.
Bro i been saying this for 2 days now.
It is objectively not a QoL, and it’s incredibly clueless at best or misleading at worst to pretend it is.
Guiding your missile with datalink even at terminal phase makes it much harder for the opponent to defeat, insufferably so.
That’s how hardlocking with the MICA is practically a guaranteed kill, even moreso than it already is.
It’s the AMRAAM’s saving grace nowadays.
The British and Italian eurofighters get to notch more effectively (it’s much easier to notch at 95°, 100° than at straight 90°), with bigger leeway for sudden pulls, and hold a stabler hold (not at the edge of your radar gimbal) of their targets.
It’s an offensive/defensive inferiority.
If you know how to use it, that is.
Which I do have my reservations about if you do.
It seems like nobody remembers when the MiG-29SMT was added with…
Was it 100°? degrees of gimbal, and it was absolutely disgusting at BVR.
You were fucked if even tried.
Couldn’t do anything, specially in the fox-one days.
It was nerfed shortly after.
Pepperidge farm remembers…
It was 90°
Well SMT at the time had a whopping 60 degree (180* FOV) advantage over even the best jets while also having the best SARH radar missile in game when ARH missiles didnt exist outside of anemic AIM-54. Add to that how SMT had no equivalents in other nations. Comparing this to Typhoon situation is just crazy.
And lets not also forget that it was one of the first to get IRCCM as well. Many nations still had non-IRCCM for their top tier
difference was that the SMT flight model was so garbage while f-16c had good flight model and destroyed everything. and smt had spo15 so it was even worse with only 60 flares
Just give it the MK2 and call it a day. Giving the inferior radar only to Germany was certainly a choice by Gaijin, and their arbitrary “balance” decisions are becoming more fishy by the day.
They could just give the 100 degrees to the mk1 and it´s over, but they just keep closing reports with proofs.
I’m not comparing it to the typhoon.
I’m saying that it is an insanely strong mechanic.
Do not be shy.
Answer my other messages.
Look, I get it, German mains are low skill so I shall keep this simple, so taht even you can understand
Mk1 is just as capable of doign this as Mk2. Its AESA attributes are no different.
Again, Does this differ in ANYWAY from the Mk1 to Mk2?
I have had no issue with guiding till imapct and defending if necessary with the CAPTOR-M. 90 or 100 degrees would not change that in the slightest. 99.99% of missile I defeat im using the MAWS to notch at 90 degrees. not 95, not 100. 90. The Mk1 is able to maintain DL at 90 degrees.
So agian, please explain why the German Typhoon will be DOA because it can ONLY sit in a perfect 90 degree notch?
Done, but you are now blocked
This is just ironic
You, of ALL people, saying that.
It’s really not about being AESA or not.
It absolutely does.
Read, dude. Read.
It would absolutely change things, 90° isn’t a perfect notch, and you claiming it to be completely disqualifies you from even talking about this; you have no clue what we’re talking about or even how to quantify this advantage.
But I’m not surprised that you don’t understand the mechanics behind the game, you genuinely struggle to even play those jets at both gamemodes, if going anything by your stats.
It doesn’t make Germany’s EFT DOA, but it does make others significantly better.
They are objectively stronger and have a significant advantage by the metrics I cited above, but you do need to know how to use them.
You don’t, so you don’t think they’re relevant. I can’t handhold you into being better, so… shrugs.
As expected.
Great job, man.
Truly the best argument of all time. Surely showed me.
Image appears in a section of the page which is about ECRS Mk 0.
The core development programme is delivering the integration of E-Scan capability into the Eurofighter Typhoon. The ECRS and future development programmes build on the product of this contract. The hardware standard resulting from the core development programme is designated as ECRS Mk0 and development is complete. Functional development is advanced in support of its initial Entry-Into-Service next year.
Erm?
