Situationnal awareness is not an op mechanic especially when you know that you can use your drone to scout the whole map, see everyone around you thanks to it, and replace your map with the camera of the drone to both drive your vehicle and monitor an area.
Situational awarness isnt a mechanic as much as it is players skill, and usually those who have it are considered good players, but I digress.
drone, which you have to control, is physical, can be seen, heard and shot down and requires LoS vs. entirely passive sensor that doesnt require user input whatsoever and would likely ignore cover and concealment.
The way i see it adding this feature removes a skillful part of the game of listening for tanks
Its one thing to be alerted to laser warning and incoming missiles its another to ask for a system that marks out sounds for you instead of you figuring that out on your own
Depending on how gaijin implements it it may well just turn into a form of ESP that isnt cheating
Do you really want to take that risk? i sure dont and imo we should not be pushing for features like this
So it seems there are other vehicles that could come with this feature as well, however some are not rated to work with large-caliber fire such as MBTs.
The thing a ifv cant defend itself headon, so that type of awareness would be usefull, and wouldnt give any advantage over MBTS instead this feature would level it to an MBT level, tho thats the main feature of modern IFVS to be able to perfectly scout, with maximum awareness, you didnt get cought, but you saw everything
