I will just say again I think doing this while there’s an open battlepass task for exactly these awards is a little unfair, in that you’re changing the rules of the game while the game is in play.
The thing about those missiles is that Gaijin deliberately re-added the smoke for balance reasons (people were crying because they didn’t see the missiles coming…)

Is the M55 still 4.0 with a reload of 30 seconds when aced?
I really feel like the thing should be at a higher BR when the FV4005 (an overall worse TD) is at 6.3.
Or, if the BR has to stay that low, at least give it a longer reload of 35-40 secs.
Yeah it should probably be at least 5.0 lol.
Compared to the FV4005 it should be 6.7 (or the FV4005 should be at the same BR as the M55 lol)
Imo the M109(s) are still better than the M55, so it should be below 6.0-6.3.
Sure, the M109s are better in most cases, but even then, the M55s are better than the FV4005 in most important aspects
- the FV4005 is 50%(!) slower than the M55
- the FV4005s power to weight ration is way worse as well at 13hp/t compared to the M55s 18.4hp/t
- the FV4005 is a lot easier to kill (size and turret placement)
- the M55 has a 12.7mm roof MG, while the FV4005 only has a 7.7mm coaxial
The only advantages of the FV4005 I can think of are:
- 2 additional rounds (ammo crates nullify this)
- the theoretical ability to actually deal damage through spalling (overpressure is more reliable)
- two more degrees gun depression (5 vs 7)
- better horizontal guidance
Now, if HESH was fixed, sure, the FV4005 would deserve a higher BR than the M55, but as it stands the FV4005 should be at a lower BR than the M55.

I’ll never get over the fact that the FV4005s reload time is realistic at 30 seconds (at least according to the reason for its cancellation) while the M55s reload time would realistically be 60-120 seconds. Can’t give the M55 the Sturmtiger treatment and give it a 40 seconds reload time though…
Any improvements being done to DX12 beta? It would be nice to be able to use it now that FSR 4 is available for War Thunder thanks to new AMD GPU drivers.
And I can scribble the design for an unstoppable AGM with 100km range on a napkin.
I’ve been playing on DX12 for a few weeks and all I can say is that it seems to be pretty stable (just make sure that RT is off because if you have it on well it will be the complete opposite)
The 155ms armed tanks will be just better than the M55 even with it’s larger filler solely due to the fact that the 203mm round is fat enough to get caught on random junk.
Its frankly worse than the M44 due to this alone, the m107 round kills functionally everything that the M55’s 203mm can, and sports just overall better performance overall bar a minor HE pen increase that does not change any breakpoints, you still shoot the exact same weakspots as before.
I’m also fine with moving the M44 up as well.

Few other 155mm armed tanks you’d have to move up as well and I don’t think anyone has complained about the loraine 155mm ever.
I think the M55 is fine where it is, the folks talking about the HESH barn I agree with, it should come down, I don’t see a need for the M55 to go up due to the HESH barn being shafted however, we should unshaft the HESH barn instead.
Oh boy I cannot wait for airfield camping in SIM and ARB to start again given now they have actual good SAMs.
Mark my words people will come back and moan to high heavens just like back before the early rolands got terrible FMs.
Airfield strafing will still be plenty possible, its just that SPAA will no longer be a Non–Factor at anything above 9.3
I don’t mind airfields being protected properly, you don’t have to follow people to that point.
HOWEVER: I wish they would turn airfields into bombing targets and provide proper rewards for destroying the AA on the airfields. That way people can prevent their enemies from “camping” the airfields.
