Sorry, but I’m not going to assign double, triple, or ten-fold keybinds just to turn a tank (lol).
The controls should be simple and intuitive.
So how would you suggest doing it?
I’m just going to vote no on this mechanic (assuming there’s a vote at all). Swapping a good control mechanic for a terrible one is a very bad idea.
Any news on the RCS rework for munitions discussed in the June devblogs?
This ridiculous ability for players to detect and successfully track incoming munitions from 70km is ruining GRB, ASB and Nuclear Escalation.
Why do you think the new one is bad compared to the old one?
They both have their advantages and disadvantages, so why not let players have a choice?
With my suggestion you could just re-bind so that normal press of A/D acts like the old steering if you would want that.
Someone provided this feedback;
I believe, with these changes, fixes and improvements, that a new iteration of MUCH better Regenerative Steering could be made.
I think this is needlessly overcomplicating the game. Having to set up extra buttons just for a basic turn and then trying to pilot this monstrosity in combat is clearly a bad idea.
And this doesn’t answer the main question: why should we give up simple and intuitive controls in favor of what’s currently on the dev server?
Overall, I don’t see a tank losing 5–10 km/h at high speed as a problem (as it is currently on the live servers). Having players set up extra keybinds—or, as shown in the video above, coming to a full stop before every turn—is an actual problem, and a much more serious one at that.
Didn’t you forget the SE.203 Aquilon for France?
Jagu Ar 2?
Did you never hear about the Arado 2 manufactured under license by Jagu?
Then perhaps the opposite? have the “old” turning be the default and add key binds (or a toggle) for regenerative steering for those players that want it. There is already a large amount of key binds that are unbound by default that are an advantage to have at top tier so have to be bound manually anyway.
My suggestion is that we don’t, they should exist side by side as options, old/new on a player by player choice.
You lose a lot more than that at high speeds.
Then an option is to do the opposite in that case as i described above. Completely disregarding a very asked for mechanic that does give an advantage in many situations just because you personally don’t want it isn’t really a valid argument.
It would be awesome to see the Greek F-16C Block 30 in the Greek subtree. In terms of lineups, it could perfectly fill the gap between the F-16A Netz and the F-16C Block 40. This F-16C could serve as a counterpart to the F-16A ADF in US/Italian trees, but with slightly better flight performance thanks to a more powerful engine, while carrying the exact same armament (AIM-9L and AIM-120A).
I don’t mind, as long as things stay the same for other players (who don’t like this mechanic)
But I doubt that’s possible.
No, you’re trying to invalidate my opinion right now. I am against this mechanic because it overcomplicates the game and creates a more serious problem, not simply because I ‘don’t like it’. It functions worse than the system currently on the live servers, and that alone is reason enough not to support it in a vote
Just like you have been trying to do with other people’s opinions though, so you don’t have much ground to stand on with this one.
I think you mentioned above that you didn’t like this mechanic either.
I"m not a fan of the current implementation, in fact I absolutely hate how it was implemented on the Leo 2s, although there is a small chance Gaijin will further refine it (although I don’t have high hopes personally).
The difference is that I respect the other party’s opinion and would gladly see it added as a toggle/optional mechanic where every player can choose for themselfs, you on the other hand have mostly just been saying “I don’t like it thus it should not be added at all, so screw whatever you want”.
Only in your most recent post have I seen you concede a little bit and say you weren’t opposed anymore to it being added as optional.
Why does the Danish guy name things in Danish, the world may never know
You’d be correct, my profile also has links to danish vehicles is another hint
Nah, I just don’t buy into that at all
typos (weird extra spaces)
