The Dev Server is Opening with Major Update “Ninth Wave”! — 16.03.2026 (Dev Server is CLOSED)

The tech mod’s right though, gotta demonstrate the gun dispersion yourself in-game by testing it.

Ah, aight.

That I was aware of, but only for SAMs and A2A missiles

Yeah, that’s been made clear to me now. I was under the impression that the “most advanced” we currently had were IR plus regular CCD, which isn’t the same as actual IIR, with most weapons just being regular IR, TV or SAL

That’s definitely what they would do, but again, I was just trying to make sense of the absense of the GBU-53

Are you sure?

Will the F15E also get something ?

Yes, this has been the policy since 2021. As you can see yourself from the article.

I’d definitely be all for the GBU-53 being added, especially now that the Spice 250 is being added to even more planes

Even though I personally am not a fan of the amount of bombs that can be carried lol

Ok ok, just need to be patient

👍
Totally understandable. U may also know this by now but it will behave exactly the same as a spice bomb so it’s a real mystery why gaijin hasn’t added it.

Dw lol, gaijin would never in a million years let the f15e have 28x gbu53b. Max they would allow would maybe be 12-16x
And thats max

It’s not if modeled faithfully, as it should have a Height of Burst function, and a HEAT-F warhead, not GPHE.

may i ask why it takes 2 years to gather evidence and schedule 3d modelling on spall liners for the cr2 when i can name a multitude of other tanks that have had spall liners implemented in the past 2 year

your previous answer seemed very dishonest considering you have had 2 years with photo evidence to add a very simple thing to an underperforming tank i dont wanna be annoying its just very fustrating. the ready rack ammount aswell you seem to have enough evidence of them both

I have 48 interceptor bombs for more subsonic bombs to intercept and score points HAHAHA

This one has been updated with more photos (and a link to a video from the cockpit)

Is it known how much penetration the HEAT-F warhead would roughly achieve?

Not really, I could at least provide a baseline(lots of assumptions) give me a minute. It’s probably pretty similar to the JAGM.

It’s about a ~7" (~180mm) diameter warhead.

Warhead standoff is ~ 2.5 CDs from the nose, assuming Point Detonation.

This gives ~5CD’s worth of penetration so ~ 900mm + Tandem effect.

But it would still ”behave the same” in terms of how it works and such, HEAT-F would be great against tanks and Height of burst would be nice against multi sams, but gaijin is to lazy so they would just make it explode like a normal bomb.

Correct me if im wrong i don’t usually look at warhead types for bombs ingame

Edit: i can already imagine all the bug reports for this that will be “passed to the developers” for 2 years lol

I feel like the Height of Burst function would make the bomb worse in-game, judging by Gaijins implementation of things like top-attack missiles

It probably should behave like a Maverick, rather than a regular bomb, IF the HEAT warhead is modelled

Yes of course it would make it worse, but if they made it like the proxy fuze on the vikhirs that automatically detect what target their shooting at. (So the Height of burst mode activates for multi sams and HEAT-F for normal vehicles)
It would be very good, cause height of burst just spreads out fragmentation over a larger area No?

This has been answered multiple times for you over the past few days and weeks. Nothing about it was dishonest, and I would very much appreciate if you don’t claim as such when you have had multiple answers on this subject.

Spall liner reports, as with other modern armour and protection reports are treated as suggestions, as per the article that set out how modern armour is both constructed and reported: [Development] Reports concerning the protection of post-war combat vehicles - News - War Thunder

Regarding spall liners specifically, as previously explained, once a report is accepted as a suggestion, it goes into queue. This involves a process of verification by the developers and consultants to confirm it is the case, and then must be scheduled for 3D modelling work to revise both the X-ray and DM.

As these are suggestions, this goes into queue and is not part of the same process that entirely new tank models, which are a separate development, come from.

If a tank is “underperforming”, it would receive changes to its BR or other balancing additions like new shells or other similar changes. Spall liners are not a “balancing” matter.
