It’s possible. They could delist the old XP-55 permanently, but players who have it can keep it forever. Then, they could reintroduce a new XP-55 with its correct armament available for purchase.
However, I don’t think 20mm guns can be made as an optional offensive weapons option because it was only a proposal that was dropped for four machine guns during the mockup design stage.
even though it was a dropped option for the plane. some people will def miss them. so maybe if they decide to keep them as a option. it could make those who like the 20mms happy too.
It’s up to developers to consider whether they want to change it or not.
what about xf5u-1 never got the guns? but had provisions to fit 4 20mm cannons or the 6 .50s (which we have).
thats why people want the 20mm instead of the .50s especially for its current br.
According to the sources I could find and read, they later considered making it possible for the XF5U to have alternative weapons, so the XF5U was designed to have provisions to take either configuration. Sources didn’t say 20mm guns or 0.50 guns were dropped. It’s a really different case.
However, I do not have any new primary sources to prove it. The only primary source I have found said 0.50-cal guns.

now Malaysian aircraft had been added. I really do hope the CL-41G will be added . due to a 495mph top speed and lack of guns or missiles (used 7.6mm gunpods, rockets, and bombs for COIN operations). as a Canadian i def want this aircraft. could be similar performance to the strikemaster especially considering they were competing against each other for export.
the explosive radius rework its gonna impact only the bombs or its gonna comprend even the he from naval/ground and the pure he missiles?
