yeah, but it was successfully testfired, and didn’t make it into service only due to costs. ramjet r-77 is probably one of the only reasons why meteor program existed.
do you know if gripen a had any other sarh missiles other than skyflash?
For anyone curious the book is
Gibson, Chris; Buttler, Tony (2007). British Secret Projects: Hypersonics, Ramjets and Missiles. Midland Publishing.
I don’t believe so but im not hugely knowledgeable on the Gripen. Im a F-35 kind of Dane
RB-73 led to the S225X and XR’s development.
Nope, not Swedish ones at least.

Hello yes what want
Its doubtful it had skyflash in the first place but if it did then it wouldnt be the ones in game but instead RB71B
thats about as much as i can tell you about RB71B lmao

RB73E
That’s awesome, I’m assuming it’s a Gripen A it’s mounted to?

Yeah, honestly looks a lot like the Gripen from this pic but a different angle lol, i k ow its just some place in sweden

Wait a second
Is it the same jet?
Wtf
Well **** it is
Jeg tror, man lærer noget nyt hver dag.
@Morvran how the hell did i not notice its a Ramjet on the pylon
Also it looks like a Early Meteor based on the book image i posted as it has fins
Yeah, well, the S225XR is the meteor in all essentially.
I saw a drag model shown in Swedish with RB73 designation that looked like that. It lines up with the S225XR’s early setup though…

Which, speaking in timeline order, checks out being tested on the Gripen A by SAAB since they took the private venture with it and the FMV dropped out.
RB24 in game has a burn time of 2.5 sec same as AIM9B as both are identical in game as RB24 is also just a 9B irl
