The community don't know what they want

I agree 100%. There are times where I think stuff is stupid, missiles going crazy, teammates not hearing, etc, but I really have no gripes with the game itself. Only thing is finding people to play with, I have a squadron, but most of my buddies stopped playing.

2k hours since finding this game in 2022 (had no idea it existed)
Top tier german air and ground, and im still playing and loving it.

Absolutly true

But all the nasty players who’s brain are in off mode every time the devs post something is what make the devs listen less to the community

The more the people who comment the more troll or idiots you will find. But I would be sad if one day gaijin would just block the comments in their post for this reason

A lot of the whining about the game comes from passion for the game to take advantage of its potential, not out of hate, this isn’t the world of tanks community.

CAS is hated because there’s a certain few planes which are uncounterable even by other planes (SU9 at 7.0 and helicopters with mountains come to mind)

people hate the battlepasses because its taking a crappy monetisation idea from fortnite and it has consistently gotten lower quality rewards since implementation, there used to be four vehicles instead of two and the older rewards are far better and cooler than a crappy seaplane and HE launcher that nobody will mainly play.

when we ask for realism we want damage models that arent bullshit (is2 cheeks) and ammunition that works as it should (fv4005 HESH), not birdstrikes and random breakdowns.

ships in WT are implemented really badly, that’s why nobody plays them. world of warships does it a billion times better.

It takes thousands of hours to complete tech trees, unless you’re unemployed you wont ever reach top tier within a foreseeable timeframe

people are exited for the Fa18 because its the next logical leap in planes for the game and tanks like the T14 armata, arjun and north Korean tanks would be cool to see.

the maps are often ok but have very noticeable issues which can ruin it, I’ve never won a match playing from the south side on Berlin and if you capture the A point on Carpathians you win. also good luck trying to do anything in open top tanks on cargo port, meanwhile maps that would be fan favourites with a slight tweak are never seen, I haven’t played pradesh in a month and its been six months since I’ve seen red desert

Based on how little community feedback seems to be impact their decision making it seems like it wouldn’t matter that much.

Absoluty true !

Even tho there are certain plain that overperform at their Br, I feel like it’s a “KV-1” problem. In a downtier they overperform, in an uptier they don’t even have a chance. I love shredding SU-8 with my ZSU-23-4.
And for helis, like a CC said (don’t remember his name), helis should be banned from realistic but playable in simulator (and the PVE mode rewoked because it’s impossibe to grind heli from there).

Battlepass is hatable but still, it’s not a needed content. Yes you get only 1 free vehicules but still, that’s free content. In any other somewhat competitive mmo with battlepass, everything is nonsens. I played some Call Of Duty and oh boy is their BP a complete joke. Not only do you get free gun that you should normally unlock but it also gives you some op weapons schematics.

I 100% follow you there. Helis models or IS-2 should clearly be reworked.

For ships, I loved the “old” matchmaking in which coastal boats would be completly separated from bluewater. Cause yeah, playing your 3.3 peanut shell against 4.3 destroyer is painfull

For the FA-18/armata/kf-51… you’re right. I was just thinking that alot of player would spend 100$ just to get the top BR tank/plane.

For the maps, yeah. Some sucks, some are completly stupidly made (hello vietnam with your hill on 1 side but mountain on the other).

I am too, I’m impressed by what we’ve got and how far we’ve come… Just seems like some of the community forget this sort of thing in thier demands and ignorance when ‘’‘discussing’‘’ things.

Well… it is really the “War Thunder Community”, but yes, “there are just individuals with opinions”…

So, it is and isnt at the same time lol

Yes… Well…

History has shown that it only takes a few to ruin something for everyone… Gaijin has actually made changes a number of times for the Web Pages comments section… at times, because of how much Drama something “may” cause, it would be disabled for that post…

But… yeah Gaijin knows there are far more community Members out there that care about the direction of the game and so comment sections will be open for comment… Troublesome comments would be removed

But… Anyway… back on Topic and a reminder to keep things Civilized please!

No issues so far, but I can see that things could be taken personally, so keep to a Civilized Discussion, Thanks Guys!

History has also established that ignoring them, especially on the internet, causes them to lack authority or power. Is the best thing we often do. Sometimes sadly, it feels like the DEVs take one step forward->Looking into the criticism, and end up reading the must-be-ignored “Criticism”. Which ends up also leading to them ignoring the actual important criticism that many others are saying. Or it’s “half-assed” on its release.

Anyway, imma not direct it anymore. That’s just where I stand. Devs simply take 15 steps backward with 1 step forward.

Disagree. It’s more the devs have made themselves a maze of choices and they’re stuck by corporate trying to monetize and keep their jobs with a game mechanic that’s patently against people learning, and game engine that is now well over a decade old.

I would almost be willing to wager that corporate has final say-so on whether devs implement a change, and hence why certain vehicles’ corrections remain uncorrected, and why maps remain short-lived city affairs that presumably fit the younger model of ‘twitch shooting’, rather than actual tanking.

In which case, I give the devs a pass, sometimes. And I refute corporate for constantly seeking to monetize when their product is as old as it is and will need a serious overhaul at some point.

I would prefer to get killed by the Strv 103C than CAS. Every. Single. Time.

The issue is that a lot of people expected it to be more, I guess.

The issue isn’t that the vehicles aren’t what we want. We are getting fewer and fewer vehicles in the new battlepass (this time only 2, when it used to be 4), and the vehicles we are getting are both pretty bad. One is a bomber so it’s DOA and the other is just inaccurate and Gaijin refuse to fix it because they can’t push it up in rank.

It’s fine to want realism in some areas and not others, what matters is game balance.

And this is reflected by the fact that only a few naval vessels are added each update, instead of one for every tech tree or so like ground and air.

“If you criticize the game don’t play it because it apparently can’t get better and Gaijin has never listened to community feedback”

This makes no sense, basic economics tells us that we, the consumers, expect a product out of Gaijin, the producer. We consume what they produce, and in return they get money. If we don’t like what they produce, we stop giving them money.

I know exactly what I want, a date with a supermodel.

This game is great but its always gonna be some people its the people that scream the loudest that you will hear its not at all the entire community being unreasonable. Some people just will never be satisfied.

That doesn’t relate at all. To what the topic was.

Does if you consider I was answering your last bit about what the devs were doing.

Should have pointed out the important part, not the ground beef substance. Thank you for pointing the last part now though.
