The CLOVIS is a pointless premium

In its current implementation, the CLOVIS is basically completely pointless as a premium, being essentially a better version of the Tech Tree DF105 (Unstabilized HEAT slinger) but with a laser rangefinder and a coax 20mm.

If the tank instead recieved its historical thermal imager, stabilizer and APFSDS shell, it could help fill the gap of light tanks (non autocannon) for high tier france, similar to the CV90105 XC-8.

It is a very good and fun to play, don’t get me wrong (if not overpowered) but it feels like so much wasted potential

No, it is good where it is. If you want to advocate for another premium with these features at a higher BR, go for it.

Do not change what is already good right where it is, with the features it currently has.

It’s tricky with premiums, even if they are significantly buffed when they move up you are going to upset people that bought them to use in specific lineups.
I was getting to rank 6 Sweden so I bought the premium CV90105 TML to play with the rest of the line up I was planning on making, then Gaijin deleted it and replaced it with the CV90105 at a higher BR, I haven’t played Sweden since.

The AMX 10RC is literally the TML no? I mean 8.3 vs 8.7 so I don’t see the comparison, unless you just mean accuracy, at which point trying to argue with the snail is nearly smooth they choose what they want anything else is a suggestion

It feels pointless because there is something at 8.3 with stab, 5s autoloader, 30mm coax with aphe and decent gun depression. And premium status.

It really isn’t, it is just better than pretty much anything at its BR and even its TT counterpart but if it gets moved up, as an unstabilized HEAT slinger, it will suffer

Which should, and hopefully, gets moved up. The god damn turms has ruined 8.3 for far too long. But the bigger issue is that the clovis may be a little powerfull at 8.0 with its lrf and autoloader but maybe giving it apfsds and thermals may see it fit a little better without it going to a br where itself cant perform.

I dont know if it should go to 8.3 or not as at that br you would start to see pretty powerful 9.3 tanks but at its br rn it does stomp on large maps facing 7.0 tanks. The doom turtle can see this thing to put it into perspective.

In its current state, facing 9.3s would essentially kill it. It is a quite unstable platform and it fires HEAT and already struggles against many 9.0s so when it starts seeing KPz-70s and T-72As it won’t be a fun experience

technically should be an 8.3 tank, if the DF105 which is objectively worse in many ways is the same BR.

France could really use the CLOVIS with all that at 9.3, but as a different vehicle though.

I still don’t understand how the clovis is the same BR as the DF105 btw. like it’s the same tank but better overall.
