The British 75 mm problem

Kind of bs that we dont have APHE on the OQF 75mm, especially since it was literally made to use American 75mm ammunition.

Also I think the 6pdr should get its APDS because why not, it wouldnt be overpowered due to how bad low caliber APDS spalling is ingame, and could just function like APCR to disable heavy tanks

Lol. No. The Jumbo is that high because it has better armour than the Mk VII and is basically as mobile as a regular Sherman, also a stab and .50.

No, jumbo is that high, because german mains at this BR are like the lowest skill players this game has to offer.

It is undeniably better than Mk VII, even if it had APHE, but it’s not a 5.7 material. A sheer possibility of facing a Tiger 2h or Jagdtiger with it simply makes no sense. 75mm at this BR is just a joke, it isn’t a total garbage only due to the APHE mechanics that allows it to exploit wonky weakspots and it is still a stretch because hitting them outside point blank range with this potato launcher is unreliable to say at least.

Jumbo was only brought up to 5.7, because in last mid tier ground decompression german main cried that apparently if a Tiger (that has been undertiered for ages at that point) goes up then Jumbo has to go as well

I’m not talking about the Jumbo being uptiered, personally I think the 75 Jumbo should have stayed at 5.3.

I’m just saying I doubt the Churchill VII will go up in BR simply because APHE is added.

In 4.0/ 4.3 / 4.7 battlerating, you’ve alot of vehicule who they’re able to destroy it. T14, Kv-1 Zis-5 and Kv-1 1942(premium) are in those battlerating too.

Joke take: Churchill VII will be straight up to 5.7 with APHE
because
Brits having anything good is against TOS.

Serious Take: Yeah, I am unsure that it will be 5.3 material.
5.0 might be the maximum even if Gaijin push her to the limit.

Yeah - no. It would absolutely go up. The only question is by how much. Difference between Shot Mk. 8 and M61 is so staggering, it can make or break a vehicle. Try playing sherman with stock rounds and then play it with M61 again.

The NA75 is directly below it at 4.3 with M61 APHE.

Because NA75 is not a Mk VII, it’s armor is basically non existant at 4.3. They are completely different tanks.

There is a difference between being close to immune to Pz IVs frontally and being clapped by T-34s.

Cromwell V and M4A1 are both BR 3.3. They both have the SAME shell (M61 shot) but the M4A1 has marginally better pen AND HE filler for a huge difference in post-pen damage.

So what is the “strength” of the 75mm UK shell that has no filler?

Which is why the Churchill VII is 0.3 BR higher.

BeCAuSe CrOMmY Is FasTeR!!!

Definitely faster (forward).

I’d 100% trade off the top speed for >>>> post pen damage.

Even with a garbage shell it is higher. With the same ammo it would go even higher.

wait until bro finds out that british lend lease m4a1 is at 3.7 when the US m4a1 is at 3.3.

If there was a Sherman II with solid shot itd probably 3.3 despite being the exact same tank. We gotta throw a Boston tea party in warthunder, too much tax on British vehicles.

Its there due to a mix of

Better players (to an extent)

APCR (worthless and fake)

Best armour profile (other M4A1s have bugged armour and should have Sherman II Scheme which mitigates/removes mamy major weakspots, there is a open bug report on this)
