The British 75 mm problem

If you can’t beat 'em, join 'em.

Yeah, get the Shell M61 APCBC-HE and be happy

This is simple: the developers kicked out the players who wanted balance and replaced them with players who didn’t want any changes to the game. That’s why, when the developers knew the game’s population didn’t want changes, they conducted the APHE poll, because they knew which option would win.
The game has reached the point where more than half the tanks could be removed and almost no one would complain, because hardly anyone uses them. It’s a game with so many vehicles, and players always use the same ones in different br.

It’s not really the majority.

Just the players who voted.

And those votes never happen in the game but you have to go the forums or the website.

Not to mention the vote was about testing the change and not an actual change.
To which Gaijin replied that they are still going to hold a test and for 1-2 days after the update you could simulate the change in protection analysis.

Then it was removed and Gaijin never came back to actually implement a test phase.
It was simply swept under the rug.

The Nerf side were actually winning the vote until the very last minute when the YouTubers started screaming and sent their fans to vote apparently.

Technically it was the „yes, we want to test realistic APHE“ side.

Spookston is still going on about “how terrible it’ll be”.

Like, come on man. They were testing it, they could have tweaked the final product. Now the community basically guaranteed it’ll never be changed.

Even Smin said as such recently.

And the most hilarious thing is Gaijin still buffed it afterwards, despite the vote clearly winning with “no changes”, so APHE even got better in its then already overpowered state.

aren’t the mm75 missing about 10 mm of penetration?

Penetration in War Thunder is governed by the Jacob de Marre penetration calculator.

By April 1944 the entire 21st Army Group was only using M61 APCBC/HE.

Well, here we go, everything (?) with the 75 will get APHE. The Excelsior will probably have to go up to 4.3.

Well I’m just loving this.

Ideally it should stay at 4.7. It will be annoying if it goes up and breaks my 4.7 Firefly / All premium lineup. But it will probably do better now and get moved up even though it was pretty mid at 4.7.

Victory.

Now is time for 57mm M86 to be added to 6pdrs

on that topic

Not sure. It will go up in BR and then you have to deal with being a slow vehicle that can hardly pen anything from the front.

But the Cromwell V might be able to do some real damage with it.

Will probably go up a whole BR or more.

Molins is a 6pdr

(Unfortunately the Molins can’t use capped ammo so only AP)
