By April 1944 the entire 21st Army Group was only using M61 APCBC/HE.
Well, here we go, everything (?) with the 75 will get APHE. The Excelsior will probably have to go up to 4.3.
Well I’m just loving this.

Ideally it should stay at 4.7. It will be annoying if it goes up and breaks my 4.7 Firefly / All premium lineup. But it will probably do better now and get moved up even though it was pretty mid at 4.7.
Victory.
Now is time for 57mm M86 to be added to 6pdrs
on that topic
Not sure. It will go up in BR and then you have to deal with being a slow vehicle that can hardly pen anything from the front.
But the Cromwell V might be able to do some real damage with it.
Will probably go up a whole BR or more.
Molins is a 6pdr
(Unfortunately the Molins can’t use capped ammo so only AP)
Its glorious

Thank you to all members of the community who backed and contributed to the success of this project, and thank you to the dev team for being open to its implementation even with the vehicles already being in game for so much time.
I’m sure the affected vehicles will see some BR adjustments in the future, but for now let’s just enjoy this long-anticipated victory.
Cromwell V is quickly becoming one of my favourite WW2 tanks to play, while previously it was pretty much bottom of the list.
Now it’s time to pile on the pressure for 6pdr APHE (M86) and finally British low tier will be saved
Doesn’t change the fact that the gulf in performance between APHE and solid shot is completely ahistorical and absurd, but until that is fixed we will have to make do with pushing for APHE wherever possible.
Is there a thread for the British 57 mm problem? We won a battle but not the war, so let’s push this forward.
No thread, is there a bug report? I thought I remembered seeing one, but now I can’t find one.
Maybe we should start a thread.
July stats are out, so we can finally see how much of a difference APHE made.
Valentine XI:
Spoiler

Pre-APHE

Post-APHE
So the winrate went from 53% to 62%, while the KD went from 1.61 to 2.6. I think this BR increase was pretty justified, though I personally don’t think it’s going to do much as I’ve never played it at 2.7 only 3.0 anyway.
Tangent, because this is me we’re talking about, I’d love to see the Mk I go back down to 2.3 and reclassifed as a heavy tank. 2.7 we could add the Mk IX Early with the 6-Pdr Mk III and 138hp engine, also a heavy tank. The current Mk IX would get its 6-Pdr corrected to the Mk V and reclassified as a heavy tank, then finally the Mk XI can stay at 3.0 and be reclassified as a heavy tank.
A33 (“Excelsior”):
I always thought this vehicle was due for a BR increase anyway, but Gaijin love to reward players who own these vehicles. See the T18E2 as well. So it going to 4.3 made absolute sense. Pretty crazy though it went from 64.7% to 71.1% winrate even with the lack of a good 4.0 lineup. The KD as well went from 2.84 to 3.93. I suspect the A33 will also go up to 4.7 in future, hopefully Gaijin fix the mantlet thickness which at minimum should be the same as Crusader/Cromwell/Churchill.
Churchill VII/Crocodile:
I think there might be something wrong with the Crocodiles stats on StatShark as nothing moved at all, but I imagine the jump was more than the TT Mk VII. The Mk VII WR went from 58.1% to 64.7%, while the KD jumped from 1.9 to 2.97. So I can understand why Gaijin uptiered it. I can only hope it doesn’t get dragged up further.
Cromwell V/Cromwell V (RP-3):
Watch this space, I guess? It appears StatShark’s data isn’t fully finalised here either. Though I do think this change was the most controversial as I don’t see the Cromwell V being the equal to the M4A2 or Chaffee at 4.0.
Small tangent here too, but on the bright side this might allow room for the Cavalier and Centaur now. Perhaps a far less mobile Centaur with the QF 75mm can go to 3.7.
