The other BMDs in their basic configurations are, in essence, more mobile and less armored versions of the BMP-1 and BMP-2 already in-game. While the BMD-4 is similar to the BMP-3, it has an actually decent reload for the missile, which is arguably its most attractive feature. Now that the BMD-4M is a premium, the only way to get a BMD-4 in the tech tree is if they add the one with the Sinistra turret, which features a panoramic sight commander’s sight.
Regardless, the BMD-4M shouldn’t be a premium, and it is absolutely asinine how many premiums Gaijin has been adding. I beg your forgiveness for going on, but this is just frustrating after Gaijin claimed years ago that more would be added to the tree, and when they finally arrive, it’s a premium.
same goes for the RDF/LT, really would be helpful for the tech tree because against anything with spall liners those 26 shots go fast, and it feels wrong for what could the best possible US light tank to be only a premium
By the way: BMD-4 is an experimental vehicle. In the future, armored vehicles of the BMD family will also appear in the tech tree.
I don’t know, maybe just because VDV barely uses armored vehicle ostensibly like the regular army doesn’t means it’s experimental.
But overall, as a upgrade vehicle which is very superior compared to the BMD-4, this has to be tech tree vehicle, as I said in a post somewhere I couldn’t find, this will cause the same issue with the 2S38, very annoying vehicle, but at same time easy to deal, but, this one actually has armor, mobility and firepower in a single machine.
I’m totally in favor of this being tech tree vehicle.
I understand your point, but I don’t think the RDF/LT should be in the tech tree.
It’s not the same situation as the BMD-4M. The BMD is already blocked by a paywall, while the US tree already has something similar in the tech tree.
I see the RDF/LT as something similar to the 2S38. It’s a unique, cool prototype, and I think it belongs in the premium tree (both the RDF/LT and the 2S38).
If they had actually modeled the RDF/LT correctly, I’d agree that it shouldn’t be premium but currently it’s basically a worse HSTV-L. I’m fine with it being premium in its current state.
While this is true, we can still advocate for them to do what they did with the JA37DI and add a TT variant.
I would personally prefer it if Gaijin added a BMD-4M to the TT with APFSDS at like 10.3 to differentiate the two, but even just copypasting the BMD-4M we have right now into the TT would suffice.
I fully endorse the solution above (having both a tech tree and premium variant in the same update). We need a BMD-4 in the tech tree, with APFSDS. As the BMD-4M is the main variant it should be tech tree, period.
Because we were promised a tech tree variant way back and this is the most suitable variant for it.
Because we have not seen any tech tree vehicles in a full year for the USSR ground tree except for filler SPAA. Which is ridiculous.
This is the 4th high tier premium in the USSR ground tree in 5 updates this year. Which is just too much. Especially considering point 2.
I’m not someone that complains much but this is just wrong and extremely disappointing.
I agree. The TT variant with APFSDS will be at a higher BR where it is more needed while the premium can be at that lower BR without APFSDS which is more ideal for newer players
