Ah that is an extra fun bit, the “bug” also gave people special task tokens. It looks like some sort of bleed over from the dev server (where you want people to test everything).
So they are basically getting 5 premium vehicles for free then…
According to what I know, the bug happened in a specific range of time, so when people first discovered the bug, there were posts on the community about this, and other players can log in to their accounts to “use this bug”. Although I believe this bug was random for many players, some players were still able to abuse it.
But logging in during that time didn’t guarantee getting the bug, like, at all. There was no way for players to chose to get the bug. At least not from what i have seen.
I was logged in the entire time and didn’t see any bugs until I see people saying it in the matches and in fourms.
You’re right, life is unfair many times, but it does not mean we should just allow these unfair things to happen to us unconditionally. In my opinion, we should always try to make things fair for everyone when we can.

Yes, life is indeed very… unfair but that’s exactly why this hurts so much. We already live in a world where so much comes down to luck, chance, and being in the right place at the right time. That’s out of our control. But in a game a place that’s supposed to be fair, structured, and balanced, we shouldn’t have to feel like we’re punished just because we weren’t one of the lucky few…
The glitch wasn’t our fault, and the players who benefitted didn’t even do anything special. It was Gaijin’s decision to let some keep their windfall and leave the rest with nothing. Welp I will basically wait till tomorrow hoping for something good. That isn’t “just life” that’s a goddamn choice. And when a company makes that choice, it stings, because it’s not random anymore; it’s a clear divide between those who lucked out and those who didn’t… I hope this is not how we get treated almost everywhere.

Player Investment Money (purchasing bp levels) and a significant, sustained amount of time and effort (completing challenge tasks).
to obtain all the listed, certain rewards on a clear roadmap.
This model is successful precisely because it removes pure randomness and gives players a certain goal. If you invest, you are 100% guaranteed to get the reward. You calculate your “cost” (time, money, forgone research and Silver Lion earnings) based on this “certainty.”
- The Timing and Method of Introducing “Randomness” is Deeply Unfair
Gaijin’s critical mistake was: They introduced a massive random reward at the midpoint of a system that was supposed to provide deterministic earnings.
this “randomness” becomes a betrayal of the contract. It devalues our “certain investment.”
It makes the returns we obtained through various investments of money and time easily accessible to others.
This directly harms two core player investments:
Time Investment:The nearly uninterrupted 90-day “grind” experience is completely invalidated by a random event. Your opportunity cost (time you could have spent researching lines or earning Silver Lions) becomes meaningless.
Financial Investment: many players essentially prepaid to unlock battle pass rewards. Now, the “exclusivity” and “value” of this track have been diluted.
3.Why the Official “Winning the Lottery” Argument Doesn’t Hold Water
some ppl(potentiallly benefitting from this bug) attempt to downplay this as “someone won the lottery, you should be happy for them” is a complete diversion, avoiding the core conflict.
The lottery is a zero-sum game: Someone wins, meaning more people don’t win, but those who didn’t win initially didn’t invest anything beyond the price of the lottery ticket.
The Battle Pass is not a zero-sum game:Your reward itself is certain, but someone else’s “luck” directly erodes the scarcity and sense of value of the reward you earned through effort. You didn’t “not win the lottery”; you are someone who “was supposed to win for sure, only to find out someone else won the jackpot for free.”
A more appropriate analogy would be:
You, like many others, paid full price and waited patiently in line to finally buy a pair of limited-edition sneakers. The next day, the store announces a raffle giving away 100 pairs of the same sneakers for free. Would you be happy for the winners? Probably not. You would only feel that your act of paying full price and waiting patiently suddenly seemed foolish and worthless.
I actually watched my playmate getting an is-7 coupon(soldable) this year on the scene, never felt unfair for that. But i feel my interest damaged in this incidentsoldable.

You cant “accidently” press “claim” on every bp reward and then “accidently” buy out the entire wb shop.
When something like this happens with GE, Gaijin always reclaim all bugged GE, leaving person who used it, in debt. And then demand to pay this debt with real money.
I cant find the post now, but, on reddit, there was a case where one player got about 300k GE by server error, and wasted it all to buy out entire US tech tree. Guess what happened to him.
How is this different from GE situation I mentioned above? If people are mistakenly awarded by GE they surely have all posibilities to use it later as well, LOL.
Only difference is that “GE count” is one single easy to track value and bp levels with wb shop stuff are impossible to track down.
Gaijin is not lettng people to keep the stuff because players had no malicious intent in it (it’s actually the opposite, I saw many posts on bug report service with people saying “My bp bugged to lvl250 but I’ve already claimed all stuff ololololo guud luck to track every single warbucks LMAO”), but because Gaijin have no way to rollback everything, and probably dont even have backups.

The pass is my only motivation for playing the game.
I am not envious of the exclusive items obtained by other players, but I am angry about the devaluation of the items I could have sold.
What a mess ! Please be fair about the imbalance of those that got lucky and those who still have to be loyal and earn the pass by normal time and effort means. Because the way you have devised the battle pass it affects the next battle pass ie getting for free using coupons, the warbonds shops using free war bonds to buy the shop and the marketplace when you can sell the vehicles earnt early and price can be effected due to availability. It is a royal mess.
Side issue with the battle pass is that. If you play solely arcade it is near impossible to get the battle pass task The Making of a Legend . 12 kills is a hard task in Arcade air naval or ground. Please correct me if I’m wrong by publishing the stats of how many completes it in arcade only. Really it makes not a difference when some people got thousands of levels free.
There is no blame for a bug or exploit or hard feelings for those who lucked out. Just make it fair please.
At a time when a naval event with far too high a 45k grind. When naval is in a bad state and desperately needs rethink and more players. It’s quite infuriating that this happens to battle pass aswell.

This is the most ironic thing, a company that has been operating for many years, conducting tests and experiments near weekends without any contingency plans, even if such accidents have occurred multiple times, there are no on duty personnel.
In the face of sudden major public opinion and accidents, there is no responsible person to come out for emergency appeasement, nor is there a temporary meeting for discussion, allowing players’ public opinion to ferment in the community, and relying solely on community administrators to release some seemingly plausible conclusions.
As an ordinary and rational person, I certainly respect the right of every staff member to work and rest. But have Gaijin and his manager respected each and every one of us players? Have you respected every penny we pay? Have you respected their own career and work?

That’s not what happened though… those that got the bug didn’t have to press ANYTHING for it to still be there after the fix. A player that logged in, saw the bug, got scared and logged out immediately without clicking anything, didn’t claim anything at all, would still have the levels and items available after the fix when the logged back in later again.
