Copy paste itself isn’t the issue, it’s that even the unique modifications and domestic vehicles aren’t plentiful or different enough to warrant an independent tree.
The few that are interesting and worthwhile could more easily be put into pre-existing or some other future trees.
The mentioned Jordanian Tariq could simply be put in UK for example.
Not only that, but in order to create this sub-par tree you would have to put together more countries than people have fingers. It’s very incoherent and the countries involved bicker amongst each other more than they work together (militarily speaking).
The irl Arab-League isn’t really a solid excuse for these countries to be stuck into a tree.
Yes, nonsensical additions such as Hungarian sub-tree in Italy exist, but bad examples shouldn’t be the bar taken.
In regards to the comment on Israel not beginning at rank I: they could. And likely with more flavor than the Arabs (at least for the ground portion).
Gaijin simply weighed their options and decided it wouldn’t be a worthwhile inclusion. Why would you think the arguably less fruitful low tiers for this conglomiration would get passed? There is no incentive for it.
On the Chinese comment: China on it’s own would still provide less copy paste than all these Arab countries combined.
China is and has been receiving unique additions consistently for years and are now a fair and fleshed put ground tree while also (though slowly) expanding uniqueness in aviation.
Let’s not forget that Chinese potential is sunstantially higher than the majority of countries already in game.
More unique options that would also be more concentrated than the Arab-League tree also exist: notably Czechoslovakia, Poland, Switzerland, the Koreas and Yugoslavia.
Arguments for others exist also, but I think these mentioned ones would generally draw agreement to my previous statement without a big discussion.
+1 For me, copy pastes don’t really bother me if it gives access to some unique vehicles with new gameplay. Plus this will help the game to reach more audience in arab countries. If it gets added I may even buy the premiums.
I mean at this pace, Gaijin is going to add the Millennium Falcon by next Christmas. I don’t really mind if they start focusing on expanding horizontally rather than vertically. Even if they’re literally ALL copy-pasted, it’s just more content and I don’t rly understand why people don’t want more content. It’s not like Gaijin is going to add fictional vehicles so might as well add every single country in the world, I genuinely don’t see the issue in that.
Its probably better for this tree to limit to around 5 nations since 22 is an absurd amount to try and combine. I counted 13 nations included in the tech tree: Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Oman, UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia which is a lot.
This seems to rely much more heavily on Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, and Syria - which I reckon would make a bit better in building a tech tree but personally, you can probably leave out Iraq and Syria and still have a somewhat decent tree with those 3 nations: Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon.
You can probably also just start immediately to Rank IV similar to the Israeli tech tree since you can argue that the modern states of Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon really only came into being post WW2. Im honestly quite surprised not a whole lot more Gulf States vehicles have been added like in the case of Saudi Arabia and UAE which wouldve procured a lot of toys from the west but is notably missing, and North Korean vehicles that were bought by Egypt.
I think the vehicles listed out in the proposed tech tree barely scratches the surface because Im pretty sure theres a bunch more unique upgrades and modifications out there and you probably missed them because it was decided to combine the entirety of the Arab League itself. Aside from that, I appreciate the effort you poured into this and its probably only you that worked on this - tip, dont try to carry the burden all by yourself. Try to start a discussion page for Arab vehicles in the Machinery of War tag so you guys can slowly build out a better Pan-Arab tree.
I would like to have to the Arab league forces tech tree in warthunder but try to make it less copy paste. or at lest add stuff that is unique in terms of something we don’t have like one of the hybrid panzer 4 or gun swaped tanks.
for example for the spaa line Rank 1
I made the suggestion on the old from you can use that to get the vehicles photos and name
you can make the tt look cleaner by only using official nation vehicles like this Egyptian made jeep atgm platform.
or this Jordanian Toyota atgm platform
But it is complicated especially for Iraq because they officially made stuff like this. Yes it is not a rebel vehicle.
I made a very detailed suggestion post about it, with complete translation and description of the ammunition and other specs, but it’s been refused for some reason sadly and I completely lost the post.
I voted no. So I’ll explain my point of view. In my opinion, there’s virtually nothing fully locally produced in this proposal, I mean, there’s hardly a single indigenous base! I don’t see the point of adding yet another huge amount of copy-paste to the game, for the negligible benefit of a few major modifications to imported vehicles, and what’s more, not by one country, but by taking an entire group of countries from a geographical area to justify what is presented. Engineering is still nowadays so poor for each of these cases taken in isolation that it’s almost ridiculous to want to do it all like that.
Well I admit some of these things deserve to be added to the game, but not in this way, not requiring all this sort of copy-pasting! At a pinch, we could add a few of these vehicles to sub-trees, or even as squadron or event vehicles, but in the nation trees that are the technical basis of their existence.
I feel like if we as a community came together and tried to find the unique tanks for this tt it would end up being a good one and not a copy-pasted one. Do keep in mind the arab league has 22 nations there is a lot of opportunity to find tanks that are not documented or the documents are not online. For example, I found 5.
The trucks with the 37mm on back are 2 different chassis.
I decided to make my own version by using the old forum suggestion I made. Since I did not like this copy-pasty version. I will update it with time by using more of the tanks we find or suggestions on rankings and which line it should go to.
There you go! This already looks less like a do everything to get an Arab tree for the need of it operation.
What you’re offering is a little better, although there are still a lot of weird, tinkered machines, and the technical underpinnings of most of the main vehicles, mainly the MBTs, aren’t at all indigenous to the group’s countries, which, in my opinion, detracts from the overall appeal. And it’s not just the MBTs here; there are also a significant number of show/demonstration machines in the more modern models.
Despite everything, as I said earlier and it’s a bit repetitive, some would still deserve to be added to the game because of their authenticity, some foreign designs are also locally modified enough to deserve their addition, I would like to see them, especially with some of those proposed, but it’s only a very small part unfortunately, and I’m afraid that having to add all these foreign vehicle especially those modified by their western or eastern manufacturer (so vehicles that logically intend to their country of birth in my humble opinion), can not justify the creation of a complete TT containing so few super original DCA and VCI, some correctly modified machines locally like the Falcons, and all this pile of machines on foreign technical base modified and tinkered on site by 22 countries gathered to arrive at a quantity that would make the thing “acceptable” (which in itself is already a small mess I think). the ones that deserve to be added have more their place in two or three more country centered sub-trees + or event / squadron in my humble opinion.
