Noticing now that, despite the buffs they gave it with the arrival of the F-14D, the Phoenix still feels horrible to use. I have determined that this is likely due to the acceleration since, despite being less agile, the Fakour-90 is actually better in close-quarters as it simply gets to the target faster.
The acceleration on the Phoenix is abysmal, almost too abysmal. I know that it can hardly be expected to have the performance of a modern fox-3, however it just feels too slow. I look at launch footage & it seems to accelerate much better irl than in-game.
Of course, I could very well be mistaken & just coping about my favorite missile not being as good as I thought it was. If anyone could confirm whether my suspicions are correct or not, I would appreciate it, as I seem to lack the know-how on how to figure it out properly.

Aim 54s dont well compete in game with modern fox 3s and jets with adequate rwr, chaff and what not. also that issue you link is closed because the individual did not provide appropriate sources. which they then list what an valid source would be. I dont disagree persay but just going off feeling and random websites for information isnt going to solve anything.
I’d suggest the following:
Find sources gaijin would accept about the rocket motor. acceleration etc from a operating manual etc.
Not sure what the fakour has to do with this as it is a completely separate missile only available on the f14 iranian version. - so tailor your post better. to address what your complaint is and why. not it feels slow or less agile than these other missiles.
I explicitly stated that I knew the bug report was not accepted. Figuring out the thrust of the motor is difficult, since that information isn’t typically available to the public & thus must be reverse-engineered from the missile’s other characteristics. If you could help me figure that out, & what kind of thrust the current in-game motor produces, I would be very thankful. I mentioned the Fakour as an example of how the Phoenix’s low speed is what really holds it back, since the Fakour is less agile but much faster, that additional speed really helps it hit targets the Phoenix struggles to.
