The AIM-120 and AIM-7(and much more missiles) without lock shoot capability

I notice this game can’t shoot missiles without lock, but in real life they can shoot.
AIM-120 can track and shoot target without lock.
also AIM-7 can shoot and track if aircraft have FLOOD mode.

LOAL or “lock on after launch” is something missing from most missiles. Its just something that Gaijin didnt want to model, probably for TK reasons.

Aim-9Ls im fairly certain had a LOAL mode, but imagine just randomly firing Aim-9Ls and it just going for whatever target happened to pass in front of their seeker

I wonder why gaijin did not turn off the teamkill but… yeah that makes sense

MD’ing 8 AIM-120s in TTAA would be cancerous as hell… Sign me up.

Would have been nice for MICA as consolation for the missing 30km of range. Could have enabled over the shoulder launches.

I mean LOAL for most missiles will require more sophisticated systems of FF recognition and lock control mechanism.

I mean LOAL makes it sound like a real mode, when it was just yeeting it off the rail and hoping.

I think its intentional that SPAAMRAAMS dont have LOAL capability, it would make the F14 spamming farkours a while ago look like nothing

Like you can do with AMRAAM, I assume

(There’s still the side of me that wants to entertain the fiction of sticking AMRAAM on Harrier GR.9 and letting them all go maddog)

AMRAAMs have a LOAL system in the sense that it can acquire a target with the help of the host aircraft after it has been launched. The AIM-9L lacks this.
