Yeah. The delay seems to be 0.2 - 0.3 seconds.

AIM260 entering full scale production this year and is ready to enter service
AF would have about 300 total after test firing and the navy submitted 300 million for AIM260 with its current cost around 3 million per missile. so navy is looking at about +100 missiles for 2026.
this is about 6 months old so maybe we get to see the AIM260 equipped on fighters soon?
Lmao no, Gaijin be adding aim120d for f22 and f35 lol
The AIM-120 was carried by F15s when Desert Storm ended, despite not being formally adopted, so F22s and F35s may already be carrying AIM-260s. I wonder if any were in the air during the Venezuela mission. F22s and F35s were involved in the mission but no Venezuelan fighters took off.
I never said they were adding them for ingame. But since there isn’t a aim260 thread and it is the successor to the aim120 I posted it here
Yea they had already tested the aim260, probably didn’t fly during the Venezuela attack though simply because it’s not combat proven or in active service and since it’s not technically a war zone there is no reason to use the latest equipment
i think aim260 is over kill for venezuela.
I’m not saying it was definitely in Venezuela, I’m saying there is precedent with the AIM-120 for missiles being deployed before they were formally adopted. The AIM-120 didn’t get its first confirmed kill until a few months later.
I’ve just had an AIM-120 barrel rolled by a Su-34 :)
the other day, I didnt realize it was an amraam that was launched at me (for some reason thought it was a sparrow) and just rolled it
“the AIM120 maneuverability stats are pretty laughable the fact that the AIM7M turns better and tighter right after launch just shows how heavily nerfed the AIM120 is in this area someone really needs to file a bug report because its stats are in a bad place right now yes it improves after gaining speed but that is not a proper justification”
It just needs the dev servers MICA seeker head would maks it far harddr to defeat but still weaker at short range.
lack of fin aoa and lack of max range energy retention and lack of overall range should be around 14% to 11% better than what it is now in term of range if im not wrong
Bug report for the AIM-120’s guidance delay and maneuverability issues.

guidance delay is okay fair enough but none the other stuff will get you better turning ability
ok, but at least make it better turning than the sparrow, and maybe not be barrel rolled now and then
those kind of statements mean absolutely nothing and will not get you a report
They already denied it lol
There is a alternate path that could probably be undertaken based on The “English Bias” Maneuver that the Sparrow’s should have; I’m pretty sure this was previously reported on the old Forum and should be applicable to the AIM-120.

@Gunjob , was there any way to confirm that this report is still “alive”? Because the time between control surface unlock and the seeker locking on is what the maneuver covers and would confer HOBS qualities.

Using the above chart this would reduce the delay down to about 100~200ms depending on how charitable they would be, though this may only cover rail launched AMRAAMs, not Trapeze release.
