The absurdity of USS Douglass

In War Thunder proximity fuses universally function upon reaching the point of closest approach (Closure rate goes negative).

Height of Burst would function at a fixed altitude but aren’t an implemented mechanic (Some are implemented as VT fuse such as the M732 Fuse on the 155mm “M106 (PF)” shells )

True. My fault. But… Discussing realism in this game is absurditie too.

Yep that’s Gaijin for you, far too many fictional, cut up for scrap and never built ships in this game. Russian tech tree says it all. Can’t wait for the next frigate sporting a pair of 380mm automatic cannons…Russian naturally.

This is factually false.

Germany has more uncompleted ships in its bluewater tree than Russia yet nobody complains about Germany.

Whaaaaaaatt? Another player perpetuating lies about the soviets having more incomplete ships?? Time for another posting of my list it seems…

Comparison between Germany & USSR/IR:

Germany:

• Z15 Erich Steinbrinck Type 1934A, Projected AA refit from my understanding (subject debated due to serving until wars end)

• SMS Sachsen Bayern class Battleship, not completed

• SMS Ersatz Yorck, Ersatz Yorck class Battlecruiser, 5% completion

• Gneisenau, Scharnhorst class Battleship, projected armament refit

• Z46 & Z47 Type 1936C, both scrapped on their slips.

• Z51 Type 1942, sunk in air raid iirc.

• SMS Mackensen, Mackensen class Battlecuiser, never finished

• VS-10 apparently, trails done, ready for fitting out but bombed in air raid.

Current count: IX technically.

The Soviets/ Imperial Russia:

• Project 68BIS-ZIF Shcherbakov, projected AA layout

• Project 69 Kronshtadt, 12" armed never completed

• Project 69I Sevastopol, 15" armed never completed

• Project 23 Sovetsky Soyuz, never completed

• Project 41 Erevan, never finished

• Project 82 Stalingrad, never finished

• Borodino class Battlecruiser Izmail, never finished.

Current count: VII

I’ve other nations if needed?

Sidenote, what the hell are you smoking for an automatic 15" armed frigate? Highest calibre on soviet/ later russian frigate were 4" iirc found on late Sentry Ships (SKR’s) of the Project 1135 type.

Isn’t that just a monitor at that point?

Would make Jackie Fisher blush in any case.
