I agree with upgrading the 2S25M, BUT would def not want it to go up in BR. I have a good 10.0 lineup that would be ruined if it were to get bumped. Already just had the Strela move up to 10.3 in GAB.
It bothered me that this vehicle didn’t have e its side skirts, please.

Yeah, I mean its the only thermal tank in the 10.0 lineup that doesn’t cost $65 USD to play.
It’s elevating mechanism speed is it biggest problem, 3bm60 and 9m119m can’t provide any help. I would exchange it going to 10.3 with 3bm46 for a 10 or 20 degree/s elevating mechanism speed.
(It’s not normal tech tree as it’s a squad vehicle) but the BMP-2M is great too :D and @ 10.0 br. Though, I am a big light tank fan, so very biased about my love of most light tanks xD
This link doesn’t direct to a specific post, and a bunch of the results are in Russian. Just a heads up =)
Definitely, I just separate IFV’s into their own thing because they play very differently to light tanks.
Surprised they haven’t added a separate icon and tag for IFV’s yet.
I’d rather fight that Russian Sprut than a damn 2S38 any day.
I’m actually glad they gave the 10.0 one 3BM60. It slightly culls the crowd of 2S38 spam.
This isn’t something that should be reported. It’s a suggestion for a different vehicle. And should be created as a suggestion on the forum.
I agree, the modification should be made a suggestion.
2S25 Sprut-SD/SDM1 gun elevation speed // Gaijin.net // Issues
From this link, it can be seen that gaijin has also paid attention to this issue, but for some reason they have shown a wavering attitude. I used to be very curious why they chose to add 3bm60 and 9m119m1 for 2s25m instead of increasing the elevating mechanism speed. But later on, I made a conjecture (without intentionally offending them, and what I said was just one statement, not necessarily true): “They used elevating mechanism speed as a means of balance.” Yes, just like other parameters such as loading time, top speed, armor, ammunition penetration depth, etc. Although this is not in line with history, it is the simplest and most crude means of balance.However, I can also understand them to some extent: it is indeed difficult to achieve a perfect balance between a large number of various types of vehicles, let alone many criticisms from the player community
That’s why I proposed adding laser warning devices and side skirts instead of increasing televating mechanism speed, “When God closes this door, he will open another door for you.”
more like gaijin’s strange persisting in some data. unless you have documents or other trusted source, they won’t change.
they know 2s25m is weak, but they don’t want to change
They butchered T-90A with that too, since 10.7 lack of vehicles and T-72 lines need a filler like T-80B for T-80 lines, they uses the doc of T-90S manual but not the T-90A.
2S25M kinda niche for new player or USSR player, normally when i check other player who play 2S25/25M, they mostly play with heavy CAS or veteran players who know to positioning rather then brawling with MBT.
i think it can be moved to 10.3 now
Yeah, for GRB 10.3 would be fine now. Would still kinda prefer if it “only” went up to 10.0 for GAB tho 😂 I still do fine with it, but not sure if its win/loss numbers would get them to justify a BR bump.
not arcade, it very very much relies on stealth. but when the whole enemy team can see you… it is the same reason why asu-57 is 3.7 in gab
Very late reply but technically the BMP-3M is in game, as a fully upgraded BMP-3 with sodema thermals is a BMP-3M
I dont get why this little beast isn’t 10.3, it has a line up with the T-72B’s & OSA and/or Strela AS SPAAG, there is no more 10.0 line up.
Comparing this little package to the TAM2C sitting at 10.3 GFRB:
- better Hp/t 27.8 to 23.6;
- less speed, slightly forward a lot in reverse 75/75 compared to 70/20, but still faster then most USSR vehicles;
- both have same thermal available for both gunner and commander, not sure about the generation;
- 2S25M has slightly better optic 4-12x for both, while TAM has 3-10X for gunner and 2-8x for commander;
- TAM has better elevation in both angles and speed: -7/18 degrees @ 15 d/s, while 2S25M has -4/16 degrees @ 3.5 d/s;
- Reload is 7.1 sec for both if TAM has Expert crew, aced it’s 6.7;
- in firepower the 2S25M wins by a landslide, with 3BM60@580mm and Tandem ATGM@850mm, against the TAM’s DM63@430mm and 400mm HEAT-FS;
For me:
in Mobility:
The TAM has the edge in Reverse but SPRUT can compensate with better acceleration;
Armour:
Both made from cardboard, with edge for TAM with sloped UFP and huge engine in front. But won’t save you from APFSDS;
Firepower:
- Traverse:
Sprut is faster in the horizontal by 1 d/s, but loses in elevation by 4x;
TAM has better vertical angles but still worse then other Western vehicles; - Optics:
Both Have TVD for both CMDR and GUNNER, where SPRUT has better zoom levels; - ammo selection:
SPRUT wins by a large margin with 150mm more flat pen and Tandem HEAT ATGM which it can fire on the move;
For me the SPRUT could be 10.3 no problem, you should have gotten used to the less then optimal vertical guidance of the USSR guns by the time you get to this vehicle.
They put a massive gun on a very small LT and in good USSR fashion went for the lowest profile possible. which leaves no room for the breach to move, mobility wise they has a reverse gearbox in the 2S25 but went with a different one for the M limiting it to 20 kph
I’ve spaded the BMP-3 and it doesn’t look like this, at least to mine:
As it uses the early version loading mechanism for the 100 mm cannon, lacks side protection, passive protection system and everything people could get to make it battle rating 9.3 worth.
Soderma technically makes it BMP-3M, for me no, a thermal sight in-game won’t make the vehicle any better that it was.
