As I said, grinding a top tier SPAA is extremely harder than grinding a CAS in ARB. If there was statistics, I would definitely guess that top rank lineups have maybe 3x more matching CAS than top rank SPAA. Stock SPAA leveled the grinding field.
The reason grinding SPAA is hard is because they’re insanely OP leading to no1 wanting to play CAS.
I’ll admit I don’t know a whole lot about the freebies, so I queue’d some 10.7, got the XM975 as a free SPAA and I could take Roland 3s which are a Rank II upgrade
edit: also in a 10.3 full uptier to 11.3 I got a stock CM11 as a free tank for China, wow thanks
Again, the K uses datalink with a vehicle instead of relying on its onboard seeker.
The J adds an airburst proximity fuse and changed some parts from the pre-existing models for better performance.
Finally rolled an Ozelot, it doesn’t get upgraded missiles, kinda sad but at least Gaijin recognised Roland 1s are unusable
For a good chunk of SPAA it’s not necessary, there’s only the NASAMS/Sky Sabre/Aster with upgrades, Buk/IRIS-T/Type 03 and even sub top tier like the CLAWS/Tan-SAM Kai/ADATS/Flarak/Tor/Pantsir/HQ17 are ready to go out-of-the-box

the datalink isn’t modelled sadly, the main upgrade for the K in-game is the proxy fuse which is what OP is getting at
…Then why give the vehicle the K variant if datalink doesn’t work/isn’t coded?
Yeah, that’s my only real issue with it. The Pantsir has no issue intercepting Mavericks, while an ADATS generally struggles with intercepting any munitions really in my experience. It is BR appropriate, but it doesn’t fully solve the CAS issue for Bluefor.
