Given that the F2A Viper Zero has been delayed to mid 2025 at the earliest, would it be possible for Japan to get Thai fa18s in lieu of the F2A for now?

The Thais ordered 8, and paid for 2, but the order was revoked when they couldn’t find the money for all 8. I don’t see this as being an f16aj situation because the thais paid for 2 aircraft, and are technically still owed those aircraft, as the USA never refunded them, and would have got them had the 1998 Asian economic crisis not pulled the rug out from under them.

Malaysian one is more feasible, they operated the C model (old air frames from kuwait iirc)

I wanna just keep it with thai for now since other ASEAN countries are not yet confirmed.

Malaysia uses the D variant, they are still in process of buying used Cs from Kuwait.
