Targeting pod - Unit of Measurement

With the upcoming increase in Targeting pod range, I thought this would be a good oppotunity to highlight a QoL issue that has been affecting the Targeting pods for years. I have a suggestion in for this that is nearly 2 years old but has yet to be passed, so using this as an oppotunity to gain some traction for it. (Suggestion)

Targeting pods, for some rather strange reason, use the altitude unit of measurement for the range to target presented in the targeting view. So if you have altitude set of feet. The range to target will be displayed as feet. Which gets very confusing when max range on missiles on the stat cards for missiles for example, use the distance unit of measurement, which I personally have set to KM.

I simply propose changing this unit of measurement, to make use of the “distance” unit of measurement instead of the altitude. In the future, giving players the choice with a new option would be even better.

Which change would prefer?

  • Don’t change it
  • Change it to use Distance
  • Add a new option

To add to this, make the distance not show complete m/ft no matter the distance, make it switch to something like [13.7km] instead of [13727m] when its past a certain distance (about 5km or something?)

Yeah, that would be excellent too.
