Tanks the British Tree could get to help it out just a lil

would be pretty cool but I can see it never coming to the game unless we see it mounted on a hull

Edit: it was mounted on a truck to show it off, but it only had the HVM system so if we were to get it, it would probably be without the brimstones

Oh God not this again

This isn’t that, im just saying the Challenger 1 and Mk11 Chieftain had the same Bar and Stroud TOG’s MK1 set up.

Atleast when the Challengers WERE fitted with Thermals, alot of them weren’t from what i can find, atleast half the fleet by the time Desert Storm rolled around were still on old school NV systems, instead of Thermal imaging.

Nice list of additions, I thought I’d list a few more as theres actually tons of stuff Britain could get:

  1. Cheiftain 900

image

A Cheiftain redesigned with Chobham armour, improved FCS and a more powerful 900hp (or 1000hp) engine. A few prototypes were made and one still exists at bovington.

  1. FVT925

image

A Scorpion chassis fitted with a new turret with a 25mm Bushmaster cannon and the option for a TOW launcher.

Fitted to a few different chassis

  1. Vickers MK.7/2

Very similar to the Vickers MK.7 ingame but with a revised and improved turret with supposedly better armour and slightly differnet optics. The turret was designed to better fit onto the Leopard 2 chassis rather than the original Vickers Mk.7 turret we have ingame which was designed more for the Vickers MK.4 Valiant.

  1. Vickers Mk.3 N

image

Similar to the Vickers Mk.3 ingame but with ROMOR ERA, a 850hp engine, laser warning system, thermal sights and the ability to fire APFSDS.

  1. Vickers MK.3 “Improved” (I)

Once again similar to the vickers Mk.3 ingame but with a new cast hull providing better protection. It also featured a 800hp engine and improved ammunition.

  1. Saladin 90mm

image

An upgraded version of the Saladin armoured car. The 76mm low velocity gun was replaced with a high velocity 90mm gun with access to APFSDS, HEAT and HESH ammunition. The engine was also upgraded to increase horsepower from 170 to 250 horsepower giving it a good power to weight ratio of around 23 hp/ton.

Theres tons more I could list but thats some ones I think would be nice additions, most because they provide good mobility which the UK tree currently lacks

Id prefer the Cheiftan Chobham, AKA the FV4211

and id KILL for the SST Goliath/Chimera. But since its a totally paper tank its a Vehicle that likely will never come.

Or what about the Apparent War Kits that were developed for the Chieftains in the late 60s when Chobham was first being tested?

Ive heard a FEW people discus them, But never seen a picture, a blueprint, anything about it, other than people talk about the 60s/70s Era Chobham War Kit for the Chieftain.

EDIT: This is one of the FEW mentions i can find of the Chieftains having Chobham armor war kids developed in the late 60s. Its not a GREAT source, But he is Ex British Military, so he probably has SOME insight on things.

Is this project real? I don’t think it would fit at all. It sounds like Tiger 105, paper, never built.

what source did you use to figure that they plan on buying turrets?

thanks

It was done to ONE Irish Churchill as a Test, But never went far, due to the Small turret Ring of the Churchill making it near impossible to do anything in the turret with the OQF 77mm gun shoved in there.

Not a tank, but the Rapier M113 Missile system.

A Radar missile AA that should have been in the game like 2+ years ago.

image

8km range, SACLOS/Radar Guidance, Two fuse types, both a Impact fuse on the Mk1 Rapier, and a Proximity fuse on the Mk2 Rapier. Some versions of the Rapier, Like the “Darkfire” Variant, had IR trackers installed.

INTERESTINGLY the Mk1 Rapiers were a Semi Armor piercing variety, with 400g of explosive packed them in.

The Mk2 Rapier’s were Actually much like the ADATS missile in game from what i can find as well, they both were a Proximity fuse missile, AND a Impact fuse, Armor piercing missile. And they could switch modes.

Funnily enough, in game its MODELED as the 120mm Variant.

It has the larger, longer Barrel and thermal shroud of the 120.

image

The 105 it was fitted with IRL had a much shorter barrel, and smaller thermal shroud and barrel, that left a gap between the gun barrel and the gun mount on the IRL tank. Or the Recoil mechanism is damaged, but i doubt that.

Hmm, does not look like the 120

Except the Gun in the Rooikat MTTD was the GT-7. Not the GT-12.

Yes, GT-7 is the 105 gun. What about it?

yea that’s the 105mm

Id absolutely kill to see these vickers added to the game and the saladin
