Tanks optical detection for aircraft but not ground targets?

I’ve noticed that tanks in War Thunder have optical detection as a feature in some MBTs to track air targets. However, it seems optical detection on tanks is very broad in game as they can also track and center the weapon on tanks in real life but it doesn’t seem to be modeled in War Thunder. In the real world sense, this tracking ability in MBTs should be able to lock on moving tanks and keep the gun centered as long as the turret is able meaning in game, there should be an option for a player to lock onto an MBT and have the reticle follow similar to the way it follows aircraft (Realistically the Ballistics computer would do all the work similar to CAS). However, War Thunder mainly only uses it so tanks can lock onto aircraft which is fine and all but useless for MBTs who don’t have multi purpose rounds or proxy rounds. Personally, they should just give the tanks auto tracking for ground targets since they already contain the ballistics computers and capabilities to do so and maybe even add it as a modification. I don’t think it would be game breaking since you would still need to lock and adjust similar to tracking air and would be useful for rushing tanks in open fields (we all know the maps). I can see in big maps it would be useful but small maps it’s useless but currently as it stands it would be nice to have.
