I mean, Im playing as completely new WT player for 2 weeks only, and already got 2 talismans for free, both for vehicles I actualy use. (ma main is Germany)
Are they rare ? Or is every new player getting them like that ?
they are very rare, i only got two from crates, both when I had only played the game for a month, both on vehicles I never played again once unlocking better tanks. I don’t know for sure but it may be more likely as a new account or with less vehicles

If you play rank I and II, those rank battle crates have a higher chance of giving talismans for those ranks +1. Starting from rank III and up it gets increasingly more rare (1 talisman every 6k games instead of every 300 or so)
I have 21 free talismans at rank I and II in Britain and US/USSR, and only 3 free ones at rank III or higher.
They were also far more common pre-2017.
I got a talisman for the Tiger E myself a few weeks ago, they are indeed rare and you should definitely celebrate having that small win, as you’ll be able to grind with it much more efficiently.
In my 2ish years of playing, I’ve only ever gotten 2 top tier talismans, ironically back to back in the same day and for the same nation (The Jaguar IS and T-90S Bishma). The higher up you play, the more rare it is to come across talismans.

why am i not suprised to learn that i will only ever have talismans for my 3.0 vehicles and nothing useful. i have such a deep love for british military vehicles specifically the challenger 2s and 3s but it sucks to know ill never get those vehicles unless i spend an ungodly amount of time or money to get the vehicle. i find it absolutely hilarious that they can call this a free game then expect people to pay pretty much a days wages (if youre on minimum wage, like most the kids that play it) , on a single tank/plane, and if you’re like me who mains the uk they aren’t even worth your fuckin money, you can get more done in a crusader 3. its clear these devs do not give a single fuck about their player base, they say it themselves on streams that they don’t even want to give us drops, so you want us to waste our time and donate for your stream for fuckall in return, that sounds like the gaijin i know… absolutely pathetic if you ask me, considering the price tags and the amount of time people have spent on this game. hell even buying shit is toxic asf half the shit you buy is straight gambling like okay pal that seems legal when there’s under 18s playing your game, and other shit like spending money on premium time has such a toxic relationship with your money its crazy, like you could spend £30 on ge to buy premium then god forbid you end up in hospital or something in your life prevents you from being able to play for 24 hrs a day and if you dont spend 24 hours a day playing it then you have just wasted money all because you wanted to sleep or take a shit whilst your account has premium time, because ofc it doesnt pause when you dont play and is based on real world time, were talking about something you buy with real money here. i see people make the points of other subscription services the irony there being they are subscription services, something that premium time is not marketed as… at the end of it all its blatant cash grabbing and the war thunder community are so cucked in the head they think its both fair and worth their engagement. this would be one of the best games out there, but it suffers because the company wants your money so bad like they haven’t made millions if not billions, that they’ll purposely make your time playing the game without spending money a living nightmare. and to top it all off there’s in game economy, so just when you thought the devs couldn’t do anything to annoy people more, they decide to add arbitrarily inflated numbers to buy and crew the vehicle, as well as cost you SL for every bullet, every bomb, every bit of damage you take all in the aim to ensure you make less money per game if you don’t pay for premium. like it doesn’t really matter how well you’re doing in game, depending on how you’re going through the tech tree you will most likely get stuck researching vehicles at shitty RP returns all because you cant afford the SL cost to buy and crew your new tank, oh and i hope you don’t put them in the wrong crew slot by accident, even crewing your vehicles is like playing chess having to think 5 steps ahead. oh and dont be nieve thinking WeLl tHeY BalAnCE EveRy mAtCh… idk if you’ve ever actually done the maths, but there is not a 50:50 chance whether you’re getting up tiered or down tiered, about 10% of my games i get a down tier, 60% of my games are at the same br, which leaves 30% of games where the enemies and all those around me have a clear advantage based on the equipment they’re bringing to battle, and what do you get for doing well in an up tier like 5k SL, like seriously if you get up tiered take the crew lock, because it is not worth your time playing that match, when its almost a guaranteed loss. also 50:50 win rates? not even close. i enjoy games for how fun they are and the reward you get for your time dedicated/ wasted. you know you’re doing something wrong when the only solution I can think is not playing your game…
yes they are rare, but they seem to be common for new players for low tier vehicles, after a while they stop happening though, that’s just my experience though
at lower tiers their not crazy rare
