Why do you think a tank being used to fight against russia would be in the russian tech tree? When 4 of the tanks are literally sitting in the U.S, and Ukraine being supported by the U.S ?
There is no Russian tech tree in War Thunder.
There’s a USSR tech tree, of which Ukraine was part of, with a number of Ukrainian vehicles already in.
Ukraine/Russia are equally decedents of USSR no matter what petty subjective beliefs people have.

While it’s accurate to say it’s a USSR tech tree and not a Russian tech tree it’s also kinda hard to say it doesn’t evolve into a Russian one with the more modern stuff
USSR was dissolved and obviously if you don’t start adding russian stuff it will be left behind at around 10.0
That’s why you got none-russian vehicles in the event/prem section instead of research with the exception of maybe the Praga from Czechoslovakia which was part of the USSR but later became 2 countries shortly after the USSR collapsed
Maybe it would have made sense for them all to be in the same tech-tree if Gaijin actually started adding the countries at the same time but for some reason they looked at russia and thought “yeah that’s all we need”
Or who knows, maybe Russia could be considered a sub-tree

This also raises the question of how much C&P you want in the USSR from other countries
American, Swedish, German, British and some French vehicles are all used by some of the countries that came out of the USSR
also a bit of Israel tech
And theres also those nations sub-trees or import that they have access too
At which point tech-trees are a bit redundant if you can just get everything in 1 nation

Actually looking into it, Czechoslovakia was a “Satellite state” and not even part of the USSR so idk if the Praga makes more sense now or less

The T-80s with the gas turbines have a decent reverse speed, but nothing compared to this lol

Yes, sadly that precedent has been set. But Pakistan isnt in game, and I dont think China is due a subtree soon!

Post was revamped. Also a suggestion for the Object 478BME1 is pending. Ukraine Ground Forces Tree still being worked on. Learned some new information and had time to update this post as well. Stay tuned.

For sure, the reverse gears are NEEDED in the tree.
Honestly, put this with the T-80U or BVM, and 3BM42 at top tier is just fine. I would love this as a change of pace compared to regular old T-72s and T-80s. It could bring Russian top tier up to par with Germany as you have one more really competitive tank.

Technically we could put it around 11.7 because ukraine has captured t-80u before which somtimes operates 3bm46. I know its very unlikely that ukraine gave ammunition from the t-80u to the t-84u or that the t-80u even had 3bm46, but i think it would be a nice option to give to the t-84 to raise it to 11.7.
T-84U should be included in the American tree as it was purchased by the U.S. army.

Wait does the t-84u have almost the same hull as the t-80ud, but replace Kontakt 5 with nizh ERA or is it the same as the BM Oplot-M hull with duplet ERA for the hull. Also does the t-84u turret also still duplet ERA?
Note: I’m just confused cause there is not a lot of information about the t-84u and the fact that google just decides that the t-84u and the BM Oplot-M are just the same tank.
Another note: I’m pretty sure the t-84u uses duplet ERA for the turret.
Yes, T-84U has a base UD armor but with Nizh instead of K-5. Hypothetically, Nizh module should provide (much) more protection than K-5.
Only early Object 478DUs have had K-5.
Nope, it should be a single layer of Nizh ERA.
From my understanding, Oplots are all object 478DUs that have their UFP modified to use “Duplet”, while T-84s are just T-80UD + Nizh ERA module.
It should be similar (but not exactly the same) to T-64BMs turret front configuration, whereas a single layer of Nizh is used.
