Do we really need yet another thread that will end up being locked anyway?

Why will the thread be locked?

Eh, as a Russian main, who has seen how the 12.3 tank is in the game(currently getting it in the chiniese techtree to test it out for myself) seems like nothing notable or insanely worthy just cuz of some reverse speed. The armor on the turret cheeks are good, but other than that. I still prefer the low height russian tanks like the BVM which clears imo. I mean theres a reason why the oplots are 12.3 compared both T-90M n T-80bvm. Only way or thing its better than is a T-72b3/3A. Even then none of the hull armor is exceptional and any nato tank with a dm53 or the american round should be easily able to pen it. So for those reasons not exactly screaming such a wow tank imo.

You might like reverse speed, thats you which is fair and what you may like, but i dont find it something amazing tbh.

Because some can’t stand the idea of UA being a part of USSR tree.

Discussing reasons why ukraine shouldnt be in russian TT would be politics and thus against the rules.

I didn’t say that, I said that according to the logic of tank development, the “Oplot” fits perfectly into the USSR tree.

You maybe right, but nevertheless, I would like to have an analogue of the T-80UD in tree

Thats fair

I don’t even know what to say… it makes me sad to realize that Russia and Ukraine are being set against each other.

really poor taste for current events but i do very much get the sentiment, former soviet states have fair grounds to appear in the soviet tree just like former colonies of the other nations do. Politics quite simply cant be seperated from ukraine russia just like the israel palestine question so i will not comment further

oplot is a derivitive of the T64 style tanks so it makes sense, but the nature of it being ukrainian once again is the thorn in the side.

export vehicles should appear in two places, the nations that used it and the nation that built it. turkey didnt buy it so it would go where ukraine should go. once again we are at the stalemate from current events

the more vehicles in the appropriate place, the better.

Id love to see more oplots, however when an operator nations placement is such a minefield of controversy (and is going to be for decades) means there is no appropriate place for ukraine to truly appear right now.

i unfortunately think its best to not bring an oplot with the ukrainian flag to the game at all.

its a shame that real world problems negativley affects this game and its additions even when staying political, just look at the problems around the chinese players and taiwan as of late as another very annoying and crappy example of the reality this game is stuck in.

If it wasnt for current events id fully support an oplot in the USSR tree but i cant with the way of the world

Yeah, most UA designs are based on USSR ones so the connection is undeniable.

People must bring politics into literally everything they touch ?

This makes me feel sad…
And speaking of other countries buying equipment, why is the Oplot-M for Pakistan also in the game? It passed trials in 2015, but Pakistan rejected it and it was returned to Ukraine.
It’s some kind of Schrödinger tank.

this game takes vehicles from the past and present. the context of past and present is inseperable from them no matter what. This really is no different to all other X vehicle should be in Y tree as well of Z tree because of XYZ, its just attatched to something bad ongoing to this day. its an unfortunate element of “too soon” made worse by the games devs being from one of the sides of this bad thing

i think it was a bad addition in this context. I want to see more oplot but it has to be added on equal grounds to all other vehicles.

Not everyone is allowed a vehicle because it was trialled therefore none should be allowed it.

obscure vehicles from small countries are doomed to such a fate

Not missing out on much, its a steamy pile of crap.

Sorry for wasting your time
