Pakistani T-80UD were T-80UDs exported to them. They were Object 478Bs converted to the Object 478BE standard. The one in game is Object 478BE. Pakistan also got Object 478BE-1 which have welded turrets, but I don’t think that’s what we have in game.
Pakistan trialled the Obj478DU (T64 suspension prototype) and the Obj478DU-1 (standard T-80UD) and chose the DU-1
while deliveries were underway, Ukraine ran out of turrets and many other parts which they supplemented from the production line of their T-84 tank.
Thus the Obj487BE was born (with T-84 (welded) turret).
the one we have in game was wrongly named the T-80UD/BE but we bug reported it and it was fixed. ith the latest update, gaijin changed the name back to T-80UD/BE for some reason and this has been communicated to Smin.
the difference between the BE and DU-1 is the turret ofcourse, which is easily identifiable by the shape and the position of the smoke grenades. if they line the front of the turret in a curve, its a DU-1 or a T-80UD but if they are in quad packs behind the ‘ears’ of the turret then its a obj487BE.
for shorter T-84 Oplot is Oplot (variant of 1999 year) and BM Oplot is Oplot (2009). BM is like next generation of Oplot
in fact they are both BM Oplot-T, Thai variant have additional conditioner (which BM Oplot-M doesn’t have), but in game they are same
T-84 name because of tradition of naming Kharkiv tanks with 4 on the end, T-34, T-44, T-54, T-64. It’s not they are were producted in Kharkiv but were designed by “Kharkiv Morozov Machine Building Design Bureau”
T-84 are modified version of T-80UD (T-80U with Diesel engine)
yeah, and the same added weight (?)
yeah, i wanted to mention that they are the same weight in game, but deleted it so it was included in “same” (same weight, same model)
So they name it M version because they are lazy to create new model for P which have smaller side armor
Despite the fact @Armen_Lozone made them a model to use aswell :)
Maybe they’ll use it in the future, would be a good way to make a bunch of money.
One Oplot-M was fitted with the A/C and APU as a prototype for the Oplot-T. This is the same tank that was trialed by Pakistan in 2015. So it’s not a mistake, just a lazy excuse not to model Oplot-P
- Yellow - A/C unit placed on the turret.
- Green - Vent for the APU placed in the rear right of the hull.
Both of these also seem like they were kept for the Oplot-P, but wouldn’t be on the basic Oplot-M
