Would would a soviet tank use German skirts?
this acutally is plaussible. we know armys love yoinking any metal from dead tanks for extra armor for protection

Yet the only cases of this happening were from actual German t34s although the Russians did have their own skirts for the earlier models like 1942 area.
Here’s one example of it on a German t34

constant capture of enemy tanks. The soviets most likely adjusted plating to fit any plates captured or they relised the panzer had better plate armour.
Yet we can’t prove. The Soviet skirts in photos were that. Soviet not German plus they would likely need specialized mounting as they are meant for panzers and not t34s.
while we cant yet factually prove that surely they would know how to manufacture such mounting for the plates due to the sheer number of different german tanks they nicked such as the panther, tiger 1 and other variants too

while it might not be the exact right tank they must’ve had the information to try it at some point
You understand that could just yk. Cut it off but correct they did capture a lot but the Soviets were focused on mass production it doesn’t make sense to send tanks back to be fitted with German skirts when again Soviet ones existed.
