I have a question related to tws, if i’m in tws mode and launch a missile and it still didn’t go pitbull and i switch to trk will the missile be lost? other than that i have a problem with my tws last game i was looking straight at an enemy that is 8km from me and the tws was stuck on the right side it didn’t manage to lock him, how can i fix this?
Do you mean if you switch target on the TWS will the missile forget who it is tracking? Fox 1 YES, Fox 2 no, Fox 3 no.
I normally just switch from IRST and back to radar mode but if your plane don’t have either of those you have to go to control and bind a key for “Reset Radar/IRST direction to boresight”.
for the second question i just set a button for resetting the direction i think that would be easier but for the first one i meant you are in tws u get a green square on an enemy you launch ur missile but pitbull is not active yet and then for example i find a closer enemy but tws couldn’t lock to it so i track it normally (using ctrl+f) will the first missile lose lock?
and besides this can you please tell me if in tws when the dashed line becomes straight line does that mean the pitbull is active?
No if it an Fox 3 or Fox 2 it would not loose it lock unless the enemy deployed counter measure.
What you meant by that?
Yes, the first missile will lose lock till its in pitbull range.
tws helps the missile guide in when its outside of its pitbul range, if you hard lock the same enemy youve launched at, the missile will still be guided as the radar is still locked on it, but if you change targets the missile will stop receiving guidance and fly towards the target till its in pitbull range of the missile
Youre confusing two separate things.
This is a tws 'soft lock', where you can maintain lock whiles searching for other targets

This is a hard lock, where your radar is focused on only a single target

the effests of these two modes are mentioned in my earlier reply.
As for how to know your missile is pitbull or not is indicated by your radar

The circle around the target shows that the missile isnt in pitbull range and is flying towards the target.
When that circle disappears indicates the missile is pitbull.
