Swift F.7 radar guidance

I have seen some videos about the Fireflash air-to-air missile being guided by the radar but I could never get it to work. It would always follow the direction of the Swift and ignore the radar. Did it get removed? Any tips on how to use it?

I think that got removed, but never flown it personally

It does look like it got removed, Thanks

they are beam rider missiles, dont need radar and cant utilise radar as they are radio guided.

they are also really trash, I’ve only gotten one kill ever with them and it was a head on with another F7 who also killed me with a fireflash.

honestly better off using them to smack a ground AI target and only using guns for A2A kills

They used to be quite decent, but they got a dual nerf a few patches ago.

They had their radar guidance removed (wasn’t the best way to use them, but still a feature it no longer has), and now only start guiding after their booster runs out and the rockets detach, which takes 1.5s.

This means that if you want to use them, you need to get into a head-on with the opponent and launch the missile a while away before you would otherwise collide, to allow it to correct its course somewhat after the booster has depleted.

If the opponent does any defensive maneuvers it will most likely miss completely. Which really drives it’s uselessness home.

Was removed as it was causing guidance issues iirc, so should just be SALCOS now.

i swear some time last year it got nerfed too, because now it wont turn until the booster ends

Yes and that is correct behaviour as well.

it is? well thats a shame but ok
