So, I finally got the AJS37 and happy to be able to shoot 4 RB75T. Unfortunately, I can’t get them to work properly.
When I start flying and lock-on… it keeps saying no rocket and often also doesn’t lock correctly. After I don’t use the “tv-view” And just lock-on in third person,… after this suddenly I can also use the “tv-view” again. Not sure why this is, I even try to rebind my buttons, but the AJ37 with the RB75T is working great.
Just to give all details. I tested with test-drive and did exactly the same with both planes. Since I can’t find anything related to it, maybe I’m doing something wrong? As, I would expect more players to complain about this.
I am booting up the game right now to see the issue but I think I already found it. Agms have their own keybind besides rockets. That text pops up when you try to fire rockets
You can fire the rb75s and any other agms with the “fire air to ground missile” keybind that you can set from the controls menu. Pressing once will activate the seeker. Then you will se a box if the enemy is locked
First of all I really appreciate your time in supporting/helping me. I might have found the issue. I had the fire air to ground missile to the same button as firing the rocket!
Somehow if you do this it works with the SU-24M and the Kh-29TE, I play with it and also the SU25 variants and no problem.
Because of your screenshot I thought let’s just bind it to another key and now it seems to work. I’m not a great player so only take ‘normal’ rockets or the guided TV (lack of spawn points / skill issues). So the same button always made sense to me. I do have a separate button for target lock.
Another thing just to mention. When I use the test from the modification menu for the RB75T it always just works. Shows the rocket and Air to ground button (when both bind to the same button). And after press V for change of view and it fires. Therefore it was just frustrated as sometimes it also works. Especially after shooting a missile in third person view without using the TV-view. After one missile fired like this, you can use the TV view and it works again.
All in all I got it working by binding those keys to different buttons. It was always nice to just bind some of the functions to the same button. So, the devs probably have something coded different for this RB75T as with the Kh-29TE I didn’t encounter any of these problems. :-)
Can I aks you one more question please. For my Su-24M I have 2 views. Is the difference just the thermo or is there an advantage to use one or the other. I tried to make a screenshot but somehow they are very bright. (lol… sorry am not the best with pc’s). I just see them when cycling through the views.
Again, thanks for your time and help. I doubt if I came to the idea of using different bind.
Thx for the reply!
I just always use ‘V’ to cycle through the views. And it switches to that one after the regular one. Probably need to get better and try and switch directly to right one.
Checked it which one it is directly and I found both:
Targeting Optics View “F8”
Optical Seeker View “F9” (this is the one that is thermo and also different hud)
I assume you are talking about the targetting pod. Targetting pod is generaly better to use than the built in view the plane gets since it gives better zoom and better thermals most of the time
