The Infantrikanonvagn 103 at this current time is not a particularly great vehicle, as such In the recent BR changes, a BR reduction from 4.0 to 3.3 (or similar) was proposed alongside the removal of the HEAT-FS round. After extensive discussion between players addressed at the development team, the changes were ultimately reverted.
During those discussions, I suggested that the Ikv 103 should receive its historically available APHE-BC round, the Slpgr m/43, to improve its effectiveness against medium and light targets without forcing players to rely entirely on HEAT-FS, especially in situations involving obstacles or vegetation. This would atleast help the Ikv 103 out, even if slightly.
The projectile weighs 15.27 kg, contains 0.29 kg of Trotyl explosive filler, and has a muzzle velocity of 359 m/s.
Based on penetration calculator estimates, the shell would achieve roughly 57 mm of penetration. While this level of penetration would not be exceptional, it would still go a long way toward improving the vehicle’s ability to engage appropriate light and medium targets.
