more stuff is debatable. Germany did have a large number of developments in WW2 whereas France is more limited. during the Cold War, Germany started a bit later than France but was still very competitive. Germany has more MBT for sure, as for the actual number, it’s hard to tell which one has more but I tend to think Germany has more. it remains that France does have a large number of vehicles to offer.
some tech tree it is needed. when i see the very small number of post WW2 Japanese planes, i would not mind seeing a Subtree such as Thailand adding a handful of copy-paste. but this is not a situation that France has to deal with. so your point stand
yes but that aint how it works, you are getting the trees in its entirety, which includes the leopards
even more so the 140mm leopard tank, one of 2, the other one having very few documented information while the swiss one is pretty well known and visitable in the museeum
those vehicles dont just disapear because u dont want them
the swiss people love their culture , developments etc and have a right to their leopard modifications etc
you omitting them for your benefit because you are picky and only want to choose specific stuff is unfair as well.
Either you accept a tree in its entirety or not at all
indeed, it was mostly for a marketing reason. Light vehicles are usually having lower costs in production and maintenance. they were also faster and had a longer operational range. France needed light vehicles for their expeditionary forces which could be deployed fast and at the same time, they aimed at the international market where many nations couldn’t afford heavy equipment in large numbers, such as Africa.
Italy also accommodates Romania, from which OSA-AKM is going to be added soon (next update most likely, according to leaks).
Greece could be an option, although so far most of Greeks I’ve seen don’t like the idea to have their nation vehicles placed in the Italian TT due to WW2 actions, with more hate than comes from SK for Japan actually, even such stuff as Averof cruiser built in Italy.
I don’t agree that Italy doesn’t need a subtree, especially in its current state, maybe later when more Italian vehicles will be added, which will take a lot of time looking at the past of the tree (hell, we still don’t have a single Caproni and Aermacchi plane) and more modern stuff arrives irl for ground, though it’s still nice to have more options making the tree more attractive in the line with big TTs.
Hungary + Romania can still be way more interesting as a subnation, unnecessary copypaste can be removed or hidden into folders. Btw here is my view of potential full TT with a use of 3 nations vehicles:
Draco has uncompleted turret, although it can be added as an unfinished prototype, not sure how it will be compared to OTOMATIC, depends on Darts and their implementation;
Sidam-25 with base of C-13 wasn’t completed either, the photo is a known photoshop, gamewise it would be just another Sidam, not needed at all, better to upgrade current one to the state of prototype (better via researchable modification);
this Lince is own by Swedish company iirc, doubt that it can be added into Italian TT.
that would had make them have everything. it already have a lot of vehicles. and they are going to get 3 new MBT soon
the new Ariete
the New KF 51
the New Leopard 2A8
and there is quit enough support vehicles as well. they are also ordering a the New KF41. it make them one of the most interesting nation to play in the top rank of the ground.
2A8IT is cancelled. New MBT which is based on KF 51 isn’t something “soon”, development has just started.
New Ariete… AMV/C2 modernization doesn’t provide anything game changing.
yeah, i guess i missed the update news from the summer, i saw it now.
before this, i had for latest news the Italian parliament approving the budget for ordering the tank. so i thought it was pretty much sealed. but i see now in July they call it off.
I still hope they will surprise us with a L/55 in the new Ariete. it would be a good upgrade.
for the KF51 and KF41, the first vehicles are to be delivered in 2 years. which give very little time for the conception. As a vehicle takes serial months to build from beginning to end, it is likely the Italian will have little time to design a lot of parts. we should see a prototype in the next year for the trial. at least, it is to be expected.
