Bump
I recently bit the bullet, threw together a 10.3 lineup and grinded out the 110 kills required to unlock the very nice Algerian camo.
- To say this is a tricky helo BR is an understatement, you are swamped by threats from bagelpanzers, 2S38s, Stinger platforms are dangerous for the Hind as I’ve been locked onto and shot down from 4.9km away and 2S6s and Osas will happily zone you out of doing anything. At least the Superhind has a much more advanced RWR that can keep you alive against things like 2S6s and Rolands.
- The ATGMs hit reasonably hard and have great penetration power but the low speed really hurts. 5km is more of a theoretical range, 3.5-4km is practical to keep the time to target down and the Ingwe will fall out of the air if you need to adjust past 4,500 meters.
- The lack of AAMs is sad, the Superhind is far from defenseless though; the 20mm GI2 cannon absolutely shreds aircraft that creep within range. I would have less deaths and a few more aircraft kills if target tracking wasn’t unbelievably broken at the moment.
- Zoom for days
Overall?
It does fill a gap where poor weather would make the Jaguar GR.1A awkward to use and render the Buccaneer S 2B Martels useless, sadly I wouldn’t call it the crown of a 10.3 lineup and you really need the right maps to get the most out of it.
The other obvious problem here is UK has a much better lineup at 10.7; Vickers and CR1 Mk.3, with the Lynx (or G-Lynx if you happen to have it) and it’s better missiles for standoff against MANPADS and proxy spamming 2S38s + Stingers for self-defense and offense instead of staring at enemy planes with a 20mm cannon when they aren’t close.
Rewarding in the right circumstances but a hard one to recommend.
If someone who has both can tell me what the Superhind does .3 BR better than the 10.0 Tiger HAP I’m all ears.
