Superhind still has OEM capability, meaning it can still have R-60s and whatnot. Aside from that, there is no proof of it having anything air defense related.
Okay, but we have nothing at all ingame, that’s a pity
This thing needs to go down to 9.7
The missiles are worse than Sturm and at 9.7 there’s many hinds with up to 8 sturm and those also have R-60M’s or there’s the Mi-8 with 8 Sturm and 8 Igla.
Next BR changes can I get a large support for this change (and moving the 2S38 to 11.3)?
If the performance stats of the SuperHind reflect its poor capabilities then Gaijin will move it, we’ll just have to see if that’s actually the case or not (it still deserves to be moved down regardless of if the stats show poor performance)
Unless the other Mi-24s went to 9.3 or lower I’d be against that.
Why?
Because vs the Mi-24s the Superhind has
- Functional Zoom (with thermal to boot)
- A vastly improved RWR
- Automatic target tracking, with one of the few Heli mounted cannons with the m/v to reliably jets trying to kill you
the only thing the Mi-24 has “better” is the Shturms and R-60s, but doesn’t have the optics to get the most out of the ATGMs. And if you want to take R-60s you have to sacrifice ATGM pylons. Other than that, the Superhind is just the better platform by a mile, if it had MANPADS it would be better than the 35M.
They should honestly give it R60s or manpads so it can protect itself.
Yes you have the gun but I barely ever lock it onto the enemy before they get me. Would help if it locked on the centre of the cursor and not some random spot you have to guess at… clicking repeatedly to get the lock then you click again and loose it, painful.
Is there something preventing these Hinds from carrying the 4x Sturm pylons found on the Mi-8 and Ka-29?
No because the 35M has Ataka which while only having a 1km increase in range that gives it enough distance to stay outside enemy MANPADS range and has a faster average speed of 240m/s Vs 200m/s for Ingwe.
I think 10.3 is too high compared to analogues at 10.3 but I will agree that it’s better than most 9.7 Heli’s in avionics department. Still think it should be 9.7 but a decrease to 10.0 would be nice
Never used them
Stop.
The 35M has the SPO-15 RWR and in Ground Battles terminology; it effectively doesn’t have an RWR, it can only pick up the M163/M247 and aircraft, and only gives you a direction. The thing is blind to Rolands/Osas and just about everything else.
Absolutely
would be cool if you switch wings to take Shturms or Ingwes but I’m probably dreaming with that
You know what. You’re absolutely right. The Mk IV in game now is impossible to balance. They need to replace it with the Mk III or give it Mokopa and other bells and whistles to put it at 11.0 because right now it’s awful. Outranged by Iglas and I even got hit by a normal R-60 from the front even with IRCM and I’ve been hit many times from the back and sides.
Idk if the Mk III is closer to the Mi-24P but goddamn it deserves to go down to 9.7
tbf
even if it got R-60Ms I think 10.0 would be fine
It’s just a crap BR for Helos in general, SACLOS AA everywhere, 2S38s and Spikes being thrown at you
I had a similar experience with the AH-1W, I have a suspicion none the early IRCM units actually work
I really want to like this helicopter but yeah its just not viable at its BR.
The amount of proxy rounds at this BR and the FnF missiles whenever you get uptiered just make the 5KM make range on its missiles unplayable, along with unguided rocket runs.
If the map is perfect you can do some sniping but considering how unagile it is, you’re fucked if anything catches you.
That’s not even mentioning the air threats you’ll face too, seems to be a reoccuring theme that I constantly get uptiered and face KA-50s which immediately blow me up.
That all being said, it should just go to where the Tiger HAP is, at 10.0. A lot of other shit could be done to help helis out in ground RB, but at the least this thing has no reason being 10.3
Edit: playing it a bit more, I would honestly rate it worse in almost all aspects to the HAP, with the only slight edge it gets is air to surface ordinance. It also is a far cry from the TOW Missile Launchers at 10.3 and 10.7
I think the Mk IV needs to move to 11.0 and get Mistral and Mokopa. Since Russia has the Mi-35P at 11.7 as a SQN vehicle I see no reason as to why the SH can’t be 11.0
They then need to add the Mk III in the TT with worse avionics to make it closer to the 9.7 Hinds so Britain has a good Helicopter for the 9.7 BR. They can add in the Lynx AH.7 also at 9.7 and maybe one of the Naval Lynx’s too.
Question, was looking at the Superhind Mk.5 (the one that shall not be shown), could it get added to the game or was that cockpit structure just a mockup? Maybe the Mk.5 could go in the TT before a prototype Rooivalk in a SA line of the heli tree
Mockup
still though regardless of them adding a new version or changing the existing one, is there any way to convince the snail that the superhind can at least carry normal mi24 armaments ?
All of the online archived ATE sources state the Superhind program maintained OEM compatibility
idk if any bug reports were made but I have a feeling this is one of those vehicles that doesn’t get enough attention for Gaijin to have another look at it, like the Seafire III that’s been grossly overtiered at 5.0 since introduction
No, they said it’s planned. Specifically they said “is being” integrated, but it appears that did not happen. Already discussed this with a TM

That reads like an assumption. Sucks either way.
