SuperHind (Mk.4) Discussion - Specifications, Weaponry, etc

Likely they mean it can either fire Mistrals as exampled by the image of a Rooivalk pylon mounting Mistrals, or alternatively it can mean the Superhind can mount and use other A2A missiles such as those of Russian origin meant for the Hind series of vehicles.

Possibly.

Is this referring to Superhind? I do find control of weaponry is lost quite easily due to its ‘large chin’

Possibly most chin mounted gun helicopters

On a somewhat unrelated note, since the increase in the Ingwe’s speed the Ratel ZT-3 is quite fun to play and can work well at higher brs.

But should it be able to fire on the move; it can on the Hind so whats different with the Ratel?

Gaijin advisor, if that person even exists.

is the new cockpit really modelled correctly?

Seems good to me

It received a massive RWR buff as well, E-M band, it’s now on par with AN/APG-39 RWRs.

Did they keep the controls in Russian?

Gaijin’s interpretation of certain brochures is that the ZT-3 mounted systems that can fire on the move exampled in photographic imaging is not the same as the actual systems that can fire on the move

Yeah, a missile can’t be fired from a helicopter if it’s not able to fire on the move, well a stationary helicopter can launch a non fire on the move missile, the people firing it would atleast know (or I hope they can think) that in combat getting perfectly still in a helicopter is almost impossible

Does the FAB-100 modification even unlock anything?

Edit: Well I can confirm it, the FAB-100 modification doesn’t unlock anything

interesting, I haven’t spaded it yet since getting the good modifications took too long…so I can’t be bothered

I wouldn’t mind it either but the enemy teams might, unlike something like the Lynx; the Superhind has the optics to really make 8+km range missiles work.

It should have had R-60Ms at a bare minimum as per OEM/Original Equipment Manufacturer compatibility detailed in the archived ATE systems website. Wouldn’t be as good as IRCCM MANPADS at this tier but it would be a vast improvement over nothing.

Took a while but there are updates on some of the reports

Weird how some were denied for “not having links/data” for sources, yet i made a screenshot listing all website links used. I’ll contact a TM.

hu even got the ZT3 Ratel in the image, the fact that gaijin wont give any other nation that uses a round LR none F&F missiles the ability to shoot and scoot on the move is wild.

It’s shown firing stationary and there is no available footage of it firing on the move

what a wack thing…

Bump

I recently bit the bullet, threw together a 10.3 lineup and grinded out the 110 kills required to unlock the very nice Algerian camo.

  • To say this is a tricky helo BR is an understatement, you are swamped by threats from bagelpanzers, 2S38s, Stinger platforms are dangerous for the Hind as I’ve been locked onto and shot down from 4.9km away and 2S6s and Osas will happily zone you out of doing anything. At least the Superhind has a much more advanced RWR that can keep you alive against things like 2S6s and Rolands.
  • The ATGMs hit reasonably hard and have great penetration power but the low speed really hurts. 5km is more of a theoretical range, 3.5-4km is practical to keep the time to target down and the Ingwe will fall out of the air if you need to adjust past 4,500 meters.
  • The lack of AAMs is sad, the Superhind is far from defenseless though; the 20mm GI2 cannon absolutely shreds aircraft that creep within range. I would have less deaths and a few more aircraft kills if target tracking wasn’t unbelievably broken at the moment.
  • Zoom for days
Overall?

It does fill a gap where poor weather would make the Jaguar GR.1A awkward to use and render the Buccaneer S 2B Martels useless, sadly I wouldn’t call it the crown of a 10.3 lineup and you really need the right maps to get the most out of it.

The other obvious problem here is UK has a much better lineup at 10.7; Vickers and CR1 Mk.3, with the Lynx (or G-Lynx if you happen to have it) and it’s better missiles for standoff against MANPADS and proxy spamming 2S38s + Stingers for self-defense and offense instead of staring at enemy planes with a 20mm cannon when they aren’t close.

Rewarding in the right circumstances but a hard one to recommend.

If someone who has both can tell me what the Superhind does .3 BR better than the 10.0 Tiger HAP I’m all ears.
