Reminds me of that Russian border control skit
- How many nukes does Russia have?
- we… we don’t know?
- correct, you do not know
Reminds me of that Russian border control skit
And the nice HMD.
I’ve never actually seen a Su-57 pilot with it on.
That reminded me of an old Cold War joke my Grandma told me.
An American meets a Soviet guard near Moscow.
The American says “Man, you guys really have some impressive propaganda!”
The Soviet says “So do you.”
The American reponds “We don’t have propaganda.”
The Soviet replies “Exactly.”
There’s a better way that one’s presented, but I’d be stricken from the forums for repeating it :(
Send it in my DMs, I’m interested now…
it’s really funny how there are two ways it can be read

An interesting study on Su-57 stealth. (3D Model compared to F-35s)
so F-35 is quite a bit better at every relevant band ingame
Seems so.
Even with the stealth disadvantage the Su-57 will probably be better, simply because it matches the Meta of War Thunder better (yknow, HOBS missiles and a 360* radar.)
it does say F-35 with 9X is still much stealthier than Su-57. 360 radar could also be a disadvantage, it will just make it so even an F-22 can launch an AMRAAM with no emissions of its own
The Su-57 defensive suite can most likely pick up an AMRAAM, even it it’s launched without any emissions.
Also what AMRAAM Variants allow for Passive Homing??
AIM-120 has home-on-jam, since it has an X-band seeker and Su-57 side, rear, and main array are all X band it could home on them if they tried anything no?
also, im talking about the ALR-94/ASQ-239’s ability to target off of emissions alone, which would be even easier with a 360 coverage radar
I don’t think HOJ is the same as a Passive seeker.
That’s fair, but I’m pretty sure the Su-57’s radars are also LPI, like other 5th gen radars, so it’s possible it might just not get picked up.
Assuming of course, Gaijin modeled any of this (they won’t. 🥀)
pretty much every US AESA has this, they just dont model it ingame. modern RWR like those on US 5th gens and upgraded 4th gens can pick up LPI, and having a radar in LPI modes reduces range
assuming nothing further is modeled for this stuff, we could still have 360 IRST/MAW on F-35, EOTS for forward IRST and a2g, all the while not ruining RCS like the Su-57’s IRST
I figure most modern AESA’s have this. I was just specifying 5th gen, since that’s likely what Gaijin will model it on first (if they model it at all)
I assume this would be range depenant, like only picking it up once the radar is closer?
If not I wonder if other countries have similar RWRs…
Realistically, if you’re in IRST (sub ~25km) range you’re probably not relying on your RCS anymore.
didnt they increase IRST range? if they havent they probably will for 5th gens
id imagine it would reduce range of detection by rwr, but it also reduces the range of the radar itself to a degree.
I’m not sure tbh. But the last time I used IRST I was only picking targets up sub 30km.
I barely use IRST as, I don’t think it’ll change when Su-57 comes.
