The Su-35UB is a 4+ generation multirole fighter made by the Sukhoi OKBs eastern branch KnAAPO and devoloped as a new two seat multirole trainer with the in house designation T-10UBM. The designation suggests it was intended to be a trainer of the Su-35 (Su-27M) but it was made to combine the Su-37s strong points with the Su-30MK (MKK, MKI).
The Su-35UB would be fitted with the 2D TVC AL-31FP engines, with it also receiving the canards from the MKI along side the vertical fins from the MKK. Alongside the installation of the N011M Bars PESA radar. With only one prototype completed in the mid 2000s by converting a production Su-30MKK.

The development and history of the Su-35UB starts with with the eastern design office from Sukhoi called KnAAPO wanting to develop a new 2 seat multirole fighter with them taking the best design features from other flankers. With the Su-35UB receiving the N011M from used by the Su-37 and MKI and canards and vertical fins from the MKK. With the first prototype designated 801 blue completed in 2000 and taking its maiden flight on the 7th of August 2000 at Komsomolsk.
After completing its first test flights the Su-35UB would be sent to Moscow for further evaluation, and would later be shown to a South Korean delegation in hopes of winning their fighter tender. Sadly the South Korean air force would pick the F-15K from McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. With Blue 801 making its public debut at MAKS 2001 but failing to attract any customers for 2 years it Blue 801 would be used as a avionics testbed as parts of efforts to improve the Su-30MK and Su-35, With it being claimed the Su-35UB Blue 801 would be fitted with the Phazotron-NIIRs Zhuk MSE mechanical slotted array radar replacing its N011M with the plan aiming to cut down the weight, with the new Zhuk being much lighter compared to the N011M.
With the Su-35UB later being converted back in to a standard MKK in 2005, and later being grounded in 2010 and being converted for display and being put on display in 2013 in front of the KnAAPO plant.
