Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

In general, most Western users have a misconception about the use of the Su-30SM in Russia…
In Russia, this is as planned since the first version of 1992-it is a long-range barrage interceptor, is in service with air defense regiments throughout Russia and is very limited in its use SVO…Also this summer, the Su-30SM/CM2 were withdrawn from the Russian Naval Aviation to the Russian Air Force…

The Su-30s are used for right now.
They share QRF and escort duties of the Su-34s with the Su-35
They carry an ARM
2 R-37s
R-77

Not a single Su-30 has been seen with a TGP during the SMO

Pretty sure that its not true. Someone posted a vid here about how the SM has being doing Ground attacks. And that the SM2 was “rushed” so it can do it even better with new weapon options.

Su-30SM in game won’t change anything notably unless they add R-37 for it, which will give it long range ability, so the main problem of it will become non-existing

They have launched ARM and stand off munitons but more recently they are escorting Su-34 and are sharing that with the Su-35 and QRA responsibilities

Is there a chance the Su-30 will come in the naval line?

I do not know, maybe the translator translated something incorrectly…
The main use in Russia is Air defense…
Iturup(Yasny) 2020-2021…

Your picture shows the Su-30SM/SM2 from the 43rd OMSHAP(Saki.Crimea).

Exactly escort duties and air defence (QRF) Quick reaction force (QRA) Quick reaction alert.

I think we both agree Su-30 are not being used in a ground attack capacity.

Although in the Air Forces of other countries, for example, the Su-30MKI of India is designed, among other things, for missions that the Su-34 performs in Russia…

Bigger question is, will the Su-30SM have a realistic payload or will it receive the fictitious double R-77 belly racks as seen on the Su-27SM?

Is having a better FM, Radar a good enough trade off for a payload reduction?

Probably at least for 14.0, or maybe even 13.7 depends on performance.

I don’t think it should, considering that it can carry 10 R-77 and 2 R-73 without the double pylons. Even for the 27SM, gaijin should stop playing coy and upgrade it to SM3 standard with the 4 pylon wings and remove the double fuselage racks.

I havent seen one carrying that many missiles. The point was the R-77 double pylons are fictious they are not real and are not used. But they have been implemented to help the (at the time) struggling Su-27
Which now isn’t struggling.

The Su-30SM will likely be the best jet in the game I see performance of the F-15E with insane maneuverability and a the best Radar in game.

The way gaijin does flight models we don’t know, but looking at thrust to weight Su-30SM is not even close to F-15E and EFT especially

Is the SU-30SM the best su30? Or are there other better versions?

There are upgraded versions of the Su-30SM with better engines, otherwise yes it’s the best SU-30

There’s the SM2, idk how better it is tho

The buff to the Su-27 has put it in a similar performance envelope as the F-15E. Typhoon will always have TWR over the Sukhoi. The Canards and TVC will allow the Su-30SM to dominate VWR

Typhoons Radar is also terrible.
Su-30SM x10-R-77 and x2 R-73 will not be taken lighly.
Typhoon can carry x6 120s and x2 aim9m

For WT purpose probably much better. since it has far better engines

ohh i see, thanks for the info @Giovanex05 @dragonflaine71

i hope that gaijin lets us turn on and off the thrust vectoring, cause if not, that thing is going to bleed all speed in just one turn
