I don’t know if the SU-34 could carry any thermal pods.
Not in the game, for sure. Probably just the icon for NVGs (which it have) bugged out and displays as thermals. It happens all the time

Only in War Thunder does a Su-34 have better nose authority compared to Su-27. This is ridiculous.

It might be accurate due to the canards, in the end it doesn’t really matter because it’ll be falling off the skies much faster than the su27.
Edit: Not saying that the su34 fm is accurate but just that perhaps it can really pull more than the regular flanker

I mean, I’d believe it if it was a Su-33. The Su-34 is several tons heavier than the Su-27.
It doesn’t matter anyway considering it has horrible thrust to weight.

Exactly, you’ll probably see some su34 doing 1 or 2 scary turns but that’s all, after that the plane is completely out of energy and will die. It’s a worsened su27 that tries harder.
Some canard shenanigans could work better on the Su-33 but not by much. Su-33 is still over a ton heavier than Su-27.
I don’t expect any flanker to perform good in war thunder until they solve its core issues, all of them will be terrible for dogfight purposes, including the super flanker (no, new engines won’t save it, neither will thrust vectoring).
i can see tvc doing at least a little. think mirage, while being slower its just going to sit inside your turning circle and as long as hes not completely stupid the only thing you can do is cope or run away
And after that gaijin claims to be about realism. Yeah, ACE COMBAT FM is better.

Yes, the Su-34 is capable of a half kulbit maneuver according to Gaijin. At least Ace Combat isn’t being serious about realism, while War Thunder claims to be.
The Su-27, renowned for excellent low-speed AOA performance and handling, practically begins to stall in War Thunder if you try to replicate such maneuvering.

Is it just me or are the R-77 on the Su-27sm straight up dead weight? I shoot once rear aspect to some plane and it does a 90 Degree turn to nowhere. They have more explosive filler than the amraam does and I think I’ve gotten only 1 insta kill with them so far, most cases they don’t even crit. They also seem to love chaff more but that just might be me
