Sukhoi Su-27/30/33/35/37 Flanker series & Su-34 Fullback - History, Design, Performance & Dissection

The Irbis E radar while not aesa isn’t that bad (not saying it’s superior to the western ones).

Money

I refuse to believe that money stopped them from doing that considering the stuff that they developed post soviet collapse, it should be cheaper to build and put at least a spo 15 on the su34 than to develop and build the Irbis e radar for the su35, for example. It’s like being able to build multiple houses but not having money to put doors on them.

most likely - EW pods(Khibini) can into rwr and thats just cheaper in result of that

Could be the case

Kinda off topic but i think it’s interesting to share here with you guys, i didn’t know about that but someone made a suggestion for Enduring Confrontation:

I strongly recommend for all of you to go there and vote for its addition, i unironically believe that such update would be the most important ever for air battles considering the kind of stuff that we are getting now.

money money

How is it too much?

At least you have your indigenous aircraft and not having to use an “Estonian” F-16 because gaijin wrongly believe a Tranche 1 Typhoon will break the game.

Alright, thank you very much for your efforts.

Irbis-E is pretty much leading in terms of PESA radar performance. So it won’t be bad at all, and PESA radar generally has more search range than AESA of the same size (although tracking range is shorter).

Which would be fine seeing as the eurofighters still flying mechanical scan in 2024, or are we going to overlook that? Rafale came with PESA also.

The Su-57 does come equipped with AESA as well.

Or did you think all Rafale and Eurofighter would just come to the game with the AESA radars?

Good thing the Typhoons have ECRS Mk 1

They’ll come eventually. But considering the Rafale’s PESA is worse than the mech-scan of CAPTOR I think we’re in the clear.

I hope that when Gaijin tries to make FM for Su-34, they’ll realize something is seriously wrong with the current FM of the Su-27 and change it.

I’m with you buddy but let me remind you to keep your expectations as low as possible, this FM saga has been going on for years and the chances are minimal, not zero but minimal.

What do you guys specifically claim is wrong with its FM anyways? It rates almost as well as the F-15/16 and crushes both in the 1C in-game, which afaik is also what its like IRL…

Its not the best aircraft in-game, but its definitely no slouch in a dogfight, and its kind of annoying seeing people act like its completely unplayable.

It has been detailed quite explicitly. The low speed sustained turn rate clearly underperforms and specific excess power is significantly less than real world.

Like you do in regards to the F-14?

It does not regain speed/loses speed way way to easily. And at low speeds it seems to be way too anemic

It doesn’t bro, i recommend you to compare the energy bleed of the mig29/su27 to the western planes, in the case of the su27 it’s 1C capabilities can’t be used properly because after one or two turns you’ll be falling off the skies. The western planes also overperform mostly because of a confusion made by the devs during their analysis of the documents which are explained here:

Many top tier aircraft are overperforming in energy retention

low speed maneuverability might just be an instructor issue, cuz in sim its nose pointing is basicly unmatched, as for accelerations, I do think its a bit slow to regain speed once you lose it, but idk its actul performance metrics so i cant comment on that.

For the most part though, from what I hear, it sounds more like the “issue” from the Su-27 comes more from its FM not playing nice with mouse aim. In full real it feels great imo, atleast once you learn to be careful of overpulling. That might not be something that can really be fixed.
